People have been asking a completely logical question: "Doesn't the insurance fund have to be substantial to have any kind of positively-impacting negating effects?" While this is a completely understandable question, it's important to note that this question is derived from knowledge of conventional products where impermanent loss is a very substantial issue in them, e.g. LPing on AMMs— this comes from the inherent nature of dual-token liquidity provisions where both tokens are of a volatile nature, often causing asymmetric movements thus resulting in impermanent loss. The liquidity provisioning side of Isometric has been carefully built to not only minimize impermanent loss initially but to also further negate it through the insurance fund. Let's go through how: 1. IL generally comes in higher amounts with dual-token LPing where the tokens themselves have asymmetric volatility and price fluctuations. As Isometric utilizes a single-side LP flow via the LMSR model, there aren’t naturally many cases where IL reaches risky amounts. 2. Liquidity providers on Isometric a much higher capacity to capture larger amounts of fees due to the nature of prediction market spreads which will nearly always outweigh any IL. With these two negation models which also allow for our range-based LPing and trading, impermanent loss on Isometric tends to be compressed to minor values which can be offset through the Isometric Insurance Fund. Every individual component within the protocol has been meticulously crafted to flow into other components in a positively-impactful way, and this is exemplified in every scenario, especially through the conception and the usage of the insurance fund.
