The Army should accept age 50+ guys with too much time of time on their hands and put them in their own unit called Unit X.

Every job has terms, conditions, benefits (or lack of), pto or not, schedule, expectations, financial matching etc etc. The recruiting offices have never been closed and were open when they were 18 also, with benefits and guarantees waiting on a contract. Had they signed and suffered those same ailments while in service they would be able to claim them. They didn’t want to or couldn’t, either way the ball was in their court on the career path contract they chose. If it’s so good, the Army is about to increase recruitment age to 42 with many waivers. Degenerative disc disease and arthritis are not common among those in their late 20s/early 30s. Unless they are in the military. Neither of those things gets better over time. I was 38 when I got shoulder surgery. Told I had the joints of a 65 year old.

JD in long form podcasts and interviews does extremely well. As 2028 approaches he will have time to address some of these issues. I do see him pulling back a quite a bit from the current narratives of others in the party, and I think it’s where he truly sits. I agree though that some bridges are burning due to his associations and current position. I’m open to others of course so it will be interesting to see how it all develops 🤝
