@gusvanhorn How he can say something, and then completely disregard what he JUST SAID, as he babbles on about talking to the RIGHT PEOPLE. It borders on the supernatural...

@theobjectivist @GuntherEagleman I keep telling myself (hoping) that our military planners understand and are focused on the real solution and have something akin to the Men in Black nebulizer to use on key people who are prone to political expediency.

Anyone who believes a word the Iranian regime says has learned nothing from 47 years of lies, broken agreements, and dead Americans. This is a theocracy that signed the JCPOA and enriched uranium in secret. A regime that "agreed" to negotiations in February and was building nuclear infrastructure underground. A government whose founding document calls for your annihilation and whose leaders chant it as a national holiday. When your enemy's morality demands your death as a religious obligation, his "agreement" is not a concession. It is a tactic. He is buying time. He has told you what he intends to do. He has spent 47 years doing it. Believe him. You do not ask permission from a man who has sworn to kill you. You do not seek consent from a regime that glorifies children who martyr themselves and calls it virtue. You do not negotiate with an ideology that treats your destruction as a sacrament. You destroy the threat or it destroys you. There is no third option. There never was. An agreement with Iran is worth exactly what every previous agreement with Iran has been worth: nothing. Judge them by their actions, not their words. Their actions have been unambiguous for half a century. Destroy them!

TRUMP CONFIRMED IRAN AGREED TO WHAT NOBODY ELSE COULD CONVINCE THEM TO DO: Trump reports that Iran has bent the knee and agreed to NEVER possess nuclear weapons. "They've agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to that." WOW

What’s left of the Iranian regime will make promises that they have no intention of keeping, lie at the negotiating table and in television interviews, cheat, steal, block international inspectors — you name it. Whenever this topic comes up, advocates of diplomacy bring up U.S. negotiations with the Soviet Union during the Cold War and contend that if American diplomats could meet and hammer out agreements with their counterparts from that fearsome adversary, then we can do the same with other countries. But the Russians cheated on their treaties all the time, both during the Cold War, and after! It’s hard to see the point of negotiating with someone who you know is going to break their promises at some point; it’s like bragging about the great deal you got from the used car salesman who always sells lemons that break down shortly after they leave the dealership.

“Humanitarian” trip, forced into a five star hotel, and somehow the blame still lands on the U.S. If your system can’t let visitors stay among ordinary people without restriction, that’s not a travel issue. That’s a control issue. You don’t need to defend luxury. You need to explain why a country claiming equality has to isolate outsiders in state approved spaces. When reality is filtered that tightly, the problem isn’t where you stayed. It’s what you’re not allowed to see.

The world is in crisis. Altruism is consuming it. But the cure exists. Rand identified it. Peikoff systematized it. The evidence is now preserved for any mind willing to look. It may take centuries. It may take longer. But ideas are the engine of history, and the right ideas cannot be destroyed once they have been spoken. Every generation that discovers reason, individual rights, and the moral right to exist for one's own sake moves mankind one step closer to the world it deserves. The battle is philosophical. And philosophy is forever.

'It was unpopular...A lot of them were returned and melted down.' What happened the only other time a sitting president appeared on a US coin, as Trump is trying to do. I don't find it 'chilling,' but it is a pathetic dick move for sure. washingtonpost.com/style/2026/03/…

Trump slammed media coverage of the Iran war as “fake news,” and FCC Chair Carr threatened broadcasters with license loss over “news distortion.” Government policing of the media risks chilling free speech and undermining a free press, say Cato’s @dr_inserra and @bskorup. ow.ly/PbwY50YwxVm

230 isn't the blank check its critics (like Sen. Josh Hawley) claim. It doesn't cover content a platform helped create, crimes, IP disputes, child exploitation, etc.
The internet literally cannot function without section 230, and it really matters that we keep it alive.

@NetChoice put it well today: Section 230 is "a critical legal firewall that prevents the weaponization of liability from crushing American innovation and silencing speech online." It protects platforms' ability to moderate without being buried in lawsuits, and we need it for the internet to function.  netchoice.org/netchoice-enco…

The Senate Commerce Committee is holding a hearing today on the future of Section 230: "Liability or Deniability? Platform Power as Section 230 Turns 30.” Sen. Cruz is wrong about tech companies being monopolies, but he’s right that repealing S230 "might increase censorship.” It will! commerce.senate.gov/2026/3/liabili…

We knew then, but Michigan officials finally admit COVID lockdowns were a mistake. Whitmer … does not wish to revisit those decisions. “None of us wants to go back and relive that,” she said. Why not? It should never happen again. Paywall, sorry. detroitnews.com/story/opinion/…

@rich56635 @Barchart This the problem when dealing with someone who is philosophically pragmatic. Someone who doesn't follow principles, but instead acts on urges, impulse and the reaction of others. If he strikes a deal with another Islamic thug, all of this will have been for nothing, long term.

About 90 ships cross the Strait of Hormuz as Iran exports millions of barrels of oil despi... barchart.com/share/news/809… via @Barchart From the article: "To try to stabilize oil prices, the U.S. said it was allowing Iranian oil tankers to cross the strait. 'The Iranian ships have been getting out already, and we've let that happen to supply the rest of the world,' Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview with CNBC on Monday. The U.S. bombed military sites on Kharg Island off the Iranian coast, which is key for Iran's oil network and exports, but President Donald Trump said he had left its oil infrastructure alone for now." So, we are effectively at war with Iran, placing American lives and treasure at great risk, while the Trump administration allows our enemy to continue producing and exporting oil. Meanwhile, Iran is actively obstructing the export and transit of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, which is destined for the US and our allies, causing oil prices to skyrocket and increasing the risk of worldwide recession. These blatant policy contradictions only serve to prolong the conflict and ultimately embolden our enemies. They signal to Iran and the rest of the world that the Trump administration is not genuinely committed to its stated military objectives, leading to the belief that the US will eventually cut and run, similar to the scenarios in Vietnam and Afghanistan. The American people will not accept another "forever war," nor should they. This misguided and contradictory approach to warfare results in endless conflicts that serve no purpose other than the loss of American lives, depletion of our treasure, and the worldwide loss of American prestige.

In the sea of court decisions from the last few months, I missed Judge Thapar’s assertion that “neither history nor precedent indicates that the First Amendment definitively applies to aliens” in US v. Escobar-Temal. This is… not true. The First Amendment is a restriction on the government, not on individuals. This article explains the precedent in a 1945 Supreme Court ruling.
