@chartdata 84-th week in top 10 . It shares the distinction with Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the U. S.A." of being the album from the 1980s that spent the longest time in the top 10.

@DHadlins54259 @CNN He started this because Iran was a huge threat to the entire Middle East, not just Israel. Iran was also rebuilding their nuclear arsenal, and they were close to having a nuke.

Burkina Faso expels Bill Gates Foundation from its territory Burkina Faso’s military government, led by Captain Ibrahim Traore, has permanently closed Target Malaria, a genetically modified mosquito research project supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The program had been running in the country since 2012 with the aim of lowering one of the world’s highest malaria mortality rates. On August 22, 2025, authorities ordered an immediate stop to all project activities, the destruction of all mosquito samples, and the sealing of research facilities across the nation. They cited concerns over national sovereignty, ecological risks, and foreign influence in domestic matters. The move forms part of a wider crackdown in which Traore’s junta has revoked the licenses of 21 international organizations this year in a broad push to limit Western involvement in Burkina Faso. The shutdown leaves one of the world’s most malaria-burdened countries without its most ambitious scientific intervention at a time when it is needed most.

This turn-of-the-century photograph shows Jack Daniel (in the white hat) seated beside George Green, the son of **Nathan 'Nearest' Green, the man widely recognized today as America’s first known Black master distiller. For generations, it was believed Daniel learned whiskey-making from a local preacher and landowner, Dan Call. But historical records and family accounts revealed that the real teacher was Nearest Green, an enslaved distiller hired out to Call. Green mentored the young Daniel and later worked with him after the Civil War, helping shape what would become one of the most famous whiskey brands in the world. Green’s role remained largely overlooked for more than a century until Brown-Forman, the company that owns Jack Daniel’s, officially acknowledged him as the distillery’s first master distiller, with Daniel considered the second. The Jack Daniel’s distillery sits in Lynchburg, Tennessee, located in a dry county. Visitors can buy commemorative bottles at the distillery, but the whiskey technically isn’t “sold” there due to local alcohol laws. © Old Historical Photos #archaeohistories
