please help with #music info? re: programmed Chord Progressions in #keyboards (under $800), what are the CP's? can user change tempo? rhythm? key (by transposing)? voice? -- if lighted keys, do "all notes in chord" light up for each chord? #musiced #musiceducation

@TeachMrLewis Yes, help Ss "learn to talk about [controversial topics] freely" with mutual respect & logic. My favorite teacher did this with "Monday plus Tuesday" debates, #ur" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">asa3.org/ASA/education/… TL: How did they teach you to teach controversy? #OHedchat #DTk12chat EducationForProblemSolving.net

@LCHS_Bio @MrWellsScience 50 m is the standard for "officially" riding a unicycle, and I did this in 2009.   :<)  {never rode a unicycle since then, after breathing a sigh of relief that no bones broken - it's dangerous}  But... it was only me (not mass transit) and took much longer than 5s! #ohedchat

@MrWellsScience THE WHOLE YEAR. My kids are creating a prototype of a mass transit system for the NE side of Indianapolis. Their task is to create the prototype that will travel 50 m in 5 s. Going all in with coding, wiring, force, motion, KE/PE, waves, etc. #OHedchat

R5: I have a huge PBL ready to go. My problem is that I’m afraid my Ss will not buy in to the activity or meet my deadlines for specific tasks. I’m going for it next fall with my physics classes. We will see... #OhEdChat

@Leah440B @edtechgirl A5) for student-centered inquiry, TIME is the biggest barrier, so "wise [long-term, wide vision] planning of C&I" is "challenging" but is "so rewarding" for Ss when it's done well. #ohedchat

A3: build in reflection time so that Ss stop and process before moving forward again with the group discussion #OhEdChat

A4) one indication of hi-quality critical thinking is when Ss try to "consider all relevant info & goal-criteria" when they're evaluating solution-options for the problem in their inquiry. #ohedchat

@Leah440B @edtechgirl also, too often inquiry experiences don’t happen at all, when Ts "feel the crunch of too much to do" in limited classroom time -- therefore, long-range perspectives are necessary when we're trying to do wise planning of C&I. #ohedchat

@Leah440B @edtechgirl yes, Ss can learn more from their inquiry experiences when a T encourages them to take time for reflection, despite a T "feeling the crunch of too much to do” and not having enough time. #ohedchat

A2) Ts/Admins must "think eclectic" and “make space for inquiry” in their limited classroom time, because they are confident that inquiry activities make valuable contributions to the ideas-and-skills education of their Ss. #ohedchat

@MrWellsScience @StartSOLE Capturing what inquiry conversations sound like - What Ss groups look like...is a good base for thinking about what Qs you ask Ss to keep inquiry going #ohedchat

@GreatWeissOne yes, students' "desire for discovery and learning" produces motivation, so they'll want to move-into-action when T facilitates by "pointing them in right directions." #ohedchat

A1: Whatever it sounds like it starts with the #studentvoice. Ss drive inquiry because it is their desire for discovery and learning that drives inquiry. We are there to point them in the right direction! #OhEdChat

@tyarnold18 yes, the excitement of inquiry (in look, sound,...) happens when Ss ask questions to "propel their thinking forward" and work together to design answers for their questions. #ohedchat

A1) Opportunities for inquiry occur when a gap in knowledge - in conceptual knowledge (so students don't understand) or procedural knowledge (so they don't know what to do, or how) - stimulates action (mental and/or physical) and students are allowed to think-do-learn. #ohedchat
