@michaelj121173 @gundam_news105 If anything compared to most anime it’s perfect for LA. Other anime have an all Japanese cast so it’s hard to cast, gundam is international. Realistic animation gives mechas weight and their fights more spectacle (see pacific rim) If this movie can do it well is another issue

@Dann_Sloth @gundam_news105 Not really it's just his opinion. I have watch Gundam since the 70's . Really got into it in the 80's with the Model Graphics magazines and novelizations, but i don't feel like it should be brought to live action. So I will pass. I prefer certain things animated.

I’ve long accepted that the live-action Gundam bastardization, when it was announced in 2018, isn’t for long time fans like me who’ve seen every series multiple times, watch and read Gundam religiously, read interviews, follow the staff’s work, and can quote every series front to back. Because no actual fan would want a live-action adaptation if you knew anything about modern Hollywood, let alone from a propagandist company like Netflix. It’s for the normie who saw one Gundam show as a kid 10–20 years ago and thinks they “know” the franchise, it’s for the person who thinks Wing is the first and only Gundam show, it’s for the people who think all mobile suits are called “gundams,” it’s for people who hate anime, it’s for people who don’t care about Gundam before and won’t after this movie. It’s not my circus, but I’m still gonna grift off it.

A good one piece adaptation and a good fallout one doesn’t suddenly convince me that Hollywood suddenly “gets” anime and video games

Elden ring movie, Zelda movie, gundam movie…all projects that should have me hyped but for some reason all they cause me anxiety

They keep saying Sydney’s name first like she is the main character and that worries me. Gundam is supposed to be about child soldiers broken by war. Think whatever you want about her acting but she is not at a point where she can play teenager anymore.
