Jim Crow started as “just jokes,” minstrel shows, cartoons, and exaggerated caricatures. People laughed at it first. Then they believed it. Then they taught it to their children. Then they wrote laws around it. That’s how propaganda works. What starts on stage eventually bleeds into schools, policing, hiring, politics, and everyday life. So stop acting like entertainment is harmless just because people are laughing.
