8 Somali Teens Joyride in Stolen U-Haul Through NE Minneapolis – Police Hands Tied by Policy
In a disturbing scene straight out of the ongoing chaos in Minneapolis, eight Somali teenagers took a stolen U-Haul truck with Arizona plates on a reckless spin through NE Minneapolis neighborhoods this evening.
The truck was first spotted in the parking lot of A Chance to Grow school at 1800 2nd Street NE. Six of the teens climbed into the back cargo area while two took the driver and passenger seats. They pulled out and made a quick stop at the Hook & Ladder Apartments, then continued their erratic drive—swerving wildly across the road—to Edison High School.
There, all eight exited the vehicle. One teen was seen vomiting on the boulevard, likely suffering from a concussion or severe motion sickness caused by the dangerous, out-of-control driving.
Six of the juveniles then walked off toward the Central Ave Lofts at 920 24th Avenue NE, while the other two jumped back into the stolen U-Haul and drove away.
