This week, CrimeWatchMpls entered its 16th year of providing you with critical public safety and livability info you can’t get anywhere else. Crime Watch was launched in Aug. 2010 specifically in response to government secrecy and lack of transparency about crime, in order to provide info to the public that’s being hidden, difficult to obtain, and ignored by “mainstream” media. Sadly, we’ve watched this city, county, and state spiral continuously down the toilet into greater secrecy and lack of transparency, even at a time over the last 5 years when accessible public safety information has never been more important to the public (while our ridiculous media miserably fails to report the truth). It’s government fiduciary negligence, and we deserve better. Crime Watch will continue to do what it can in reporting info you will never get from anyone else, but your voices are needed in contacting your reps on every level to demand an end to the secrecy. Also, we simply must start recruiting better candidates to run for office who will uphold public safety openness and truly represent the people. Thanks for following.

3/ UPDATE: Tanner Timothy Rausch, now 20, of St. Paul was eventually charged with 3rd degree assault-substantial bodily harm for the Sept. 2025 incident. Charges say the assault occurred on 4th St SE near 16th Ave SE. Surveillance video showed Rausch and another male talking to two other males, then a handshake between Rausch and the eventual victim. As the male with the victim started walking away, Rausch wound up and punched the victim in the face and he fell straight back. Rausch continued to punch the victim two more times in the face after he went down, before being pulled off the victim by the male who was with Rausch. Charges say the victim sustained several facial fractures that required surgery and sustained a "significant" a loss of vision at the time. No media reported on the charge, which was filed in December, but another public post indicates that Rausch and the victim are rival hockey players. The case is still in process and there's a hearing scheduled next week. Rausch remains out of custody on zero bail.

🚨SCOOP: Multiple sources confirm that Minneapolis 911 supervisor Paul Freimuth has been placed on leave. While the city will not confirm, my sources say he had been assisting anti-ICE protesters while on duty. “It’s unbelievable how many people dispatch is hiring that truly despise law enforcement,” one source said. In response to questions about Freimuth’s leave, a city spokesperson sent the following response to @AlphaNews: “Per state law, the City cannot comment on whether or not an employee is on paid leave… we must also clarify that the City is unable to confirm or respond regarding the nature of any allegations against this employee.”

What could you do with $40M in your community? I'm at Lake and Chicago where there are vacant lots that have sat since 2020. We could have more homes, businesses, and a more vibrant commercial corridor. I think that is a way better use of the money!

This buffoon is a Minneapolis City Council member, making budget decisions when he has ZERO CLUE how anything works. He's complaining because a lot at Lake & Chicago has sat vacant since his comrades burnt down their own neighborhood six years ago. NEWS FLASH: Investment comes from people/developers who think the property has value. MINNEAPOLIS LAKE STREET HAS ZERO VALUE, ie no private investors with a brain are going to waste their money. So, no, blowing $40 million in taxpayer development for your stupid pipedream to prop up a dead corridor IS STUPID.

@vrplro Minnesotans are highly susceptible to mind virus social contagions, as we've witnessed for the last 3 to 9 months. Unfortunately, our public schools are not teaching kids to think for themselves. They are taught to be compliant followers.

This administration pushed the largest immigration operation in history into Minnesota without even talking to state leaders first. We can enforce the law and respect people’s rights, and that’s exactly what Minnesotans deserve.

Retired Minneapolis cop tells all: Somali fraud, stolen cars, and ‘the last straw’ "I think it's disingenuous to say that crime is down. Numbers are easy to fudge and they do it all the time,” said "Sam," a now-retired Minneapolis police officer. Sam spoke openly about the limited number of officers and their ability to serve the public in such challenging circumstances. "And there’s officers that are going through training and failing miserably but being pushed through," he said. Sam worked in the Cedar Riverside area for decades. The area has been recognized for having the highest concentration of Somali residents in Minneapolis. Even with decades of experience, Sam said, “I’ve never been to a DOA involving a Somali, never in my career. And I spent many, many years on the street … And I find it very strange that something that happens routinely in the department on a daily basis that you do not see any Somali DOAs. It’s very odd. I would love to know the reason why.”
