@MearsMeerkat @CodifyBaseball The Quality Start has ruined starting pitching. So you’re telling me at pitch 101 he’s automatically getting hurt and put on the DL for 18 months with Tommy John surgery?

Jacob Misiorowski has struck out 57 batters in his last 6 games while allowing a total of only 1 run and 14 hits. I know that sounds impossible but it's true. No one has ever hit those marks before in any 6-game span in all of MLB history because of course they haven't.

@Spooky_Kabooky @SadVampire1776 There’s a difference between advertising saying that; random critics saying that; having a 70+ on rotten tomatoes AND Breaking box office records because the word of mouth is so good. I remember the Longlegs advertising being framed similarly, but the reception wasn’t.

@SadVampire1776 Honestly, with how much "best horror of the year" has been thrown around for every single movie, I don't blame you.

Not only does Diet Coke tastes better but because it tastes different from regular Coke, it’s safer to order at restaurants. It’s easier to tell if you’re mistakenly given Coke instead of Coke Zero or Diet Coke. If you order Coke Zero, you have to do the sticky finger test to make sure you’re not getting regular Coke. Waitresses are also more likely to think you ordered regular Coke because “Coke Zero” sounds more similar to ordering “Coke” than “DIET Coke” or just “Diet.” Servers have short attention spans so they only hear the first word. That’s why you order “DIET.” “I’ll have a Diet.”
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

As Coke Zero gets bigger, and threatens to dethrone Diet Coke as the most important diet soda property in the Coca-Cola extended universe, the feud between Diet Coke fans and Coke Zero drinkers is getting pretty fizzy. on.wsj.com/4wKhvI5

@RealMarr @BrewPack8 Player with one option left. Has never stuck around at MLB level. Streaky hitter that is better vs left handed pitching. Defense is lacking.

26 states just passed laws trying to recreate this exact classroom. The largest study on the results dropped two weeks ago. Stanford, Duke, Michigan, and UPenn tracked 4,600 schools that locked student phones in Yondr pouches. Three years of data. Test score improvement across all subjects: close to zero. Attendance change: close to zero. Self-reported attention: unchanged. The phones are in locked pouches all day. The kids still can't focus. Here's what makes the data interesting. The UK ran this experiment in 2013 and saw a 6.4% test score bump, with the biggest gains among low-achieving students. The US ran it a decade later and got almost nothing. The difference is exposure length. UK students in 2013 had smartphones for about 6 years. US students in 2024 had them for 17. One group got interrupted early. The other had already built the habit architecture. The one metric that did move: by year three, student well-being improved. Grades stayed flat. Focus stayed flat. Attendance stayed flat. But the kids felt better. Turns out the phones were making them miserable even when they weren't hurting their scores. This video looks calm because it was filmed before the thing that would make calm impossible had arrived. 26 states are now learning that confiscating the device doesn't reverse what the device already did.

The top boys hoopers in Wisconsin since 2010 were drafted in this week's Starting 5. The criteria was based solely on their HS career. 15 players for 15 years of hoops. Did we get right? Comment who had the best draft, and who got left off #wisbb

@haemjjji @NickWatts I think when I was at Wisconsin someone told me you couldn’t be taller than 5’8” to be Bucky. That really cuts out a large crop of men.

@NickWatts I work as a mascot (not college) and it’s the height requirement. The shoes and head/shell add a lot of height. I go from 5’2” to a little over 6’0” in costume. So if you put someone taller the costume wouldn’t fit right and most men are taller and don’t fit 👍

Brewers fans often lament their inability to hang onto their stars when the big contracts/teams come calling. It bears noting that Adames, Devin Williams, Burnes, Peralta, Hader, Lucroy, Gomez were all bad/mediocre/problematic/hurt once they left Milwaukee.

@THEbadgermaniac Crazy to look at all those trades and only one really helped the brewers out. Most of them we either flipped the prospect or they never panned out. Fiers and Gomez trade being the exception

@SaladinoWR1D He isn’t going to be stuck behind Chourio, Mitchell and Frelick at this point. That he haven’t been in the field during this shirt time is telling they don’t trust him in the field. Mean why isn’t he working out at 3B if that is such a need in this team ?
