More than 50 of my students are looking for Writers, Video Editors, and thumbnail designers here in Nigeria. Here are some of my concerns.. A lady gave one of her editors a voice-over of 27 minutes to edit. The editor took the voice-over and cut it into two. She took one part, the first part which is 5 minutes to edit. The other part, she deleted it. What she did next was to go find an old video in her folder. Cut it to merge with the 5-minute she edited and forwarded to the lady as a completed job. The editor never knew the lady would go through this particular video beyond the intro. And when she did, she saw the wickedness of humans. Guess what excuse the editor gave? Never mind. Here is another example. You gave an editor your video, and he completes the job. He forwards it to you. Everything normal. Then, you get an email from YouTube. You realise that the editor uploads the video first on his channel before sending it to you. Yes, this happened. I can go on and on. This is why when I see freelancers here on my DM talking about being a good editor or whatever, I laugh. And the reasons I find it difficult to give any freelancer here to anyone. I really do not care how good you are. This is one of the reasons I started a physical space. To avoid the above situations and for better productivity.
