@CDInewsletter Politicians and very wealthy people pay accountants and lawyers to find every loophole they can. If this couple found their loophole, so be it.

I know a retired couple (both 75+) that have $1M+ in assets and a paid-off house. But they've intentionally put their capital into the lowest yielding investments possible (one-year bank GICs) in order to maximize their government benefits. Good planning or blatant fraud?

BREAKING: Carney says the USA doesn't dictate trade terms with Canada. This, shortly after the Trump admin. asked for an "entry fee" from Canada to engage in trade talks.

$HGRAF is still looking good for possibly being in a 3rd wave, and the '3 of 3' about to kick off. If it is in that 3rd wave, we're in for a big move in the coming month or so. Maybe significant news coming soon? I added red circles to highlight the April potential waves (i) and (ii) similarity with the move from 2/5/2026 to 2/14/2026. The April (i), (ii) is a little bigger, which can make sense for the beginning of a 3rd wave. Tuesday's low of $4.91 is just shy of a 0.618 retracement ($4.86) from the $4.08 low on 4/7/2026 to the $6.12 high on 4/14/2026. Good enough, but a slightly lower intraday low Wednesday would be fine. Even dropping a little further to around the 0.786 fib retracement and touching the green line would be okay too, but wouldn't be my first bet.

$HGRAF RSI looking good -- above 50 and pointing up on both the daily and 4-hour charts. MACD (not shown) is looking good too. Last week's cross above the down sloping blue line from the early March high is very positive. Purple channel is a maybe. If it is in a 3rd wave: Worst case this week should be a mix of green and red candles and a bounce off (or close to) the purple line, followed by a very strong move up. More directly up sooner will be at least mostly green candles this week and bye-bye 5-dollar range for good by the end of this week or sometime next week at the latest.

@BillKristol The Great Realignment: A New Era of American Hegemony The global geopolitical landscape has undergone a total structural transformation in the first months of 2026. This shift marks the definitive end of the post-WWII order and the birth of a new, resource-heavy alliance centered on raw power and energy control rather than ideological consensus. The Collapse of the Transatlantic Legacy. NATO has transitioned from a pillar of Western security to a secondary concern. The administration views the traditional European leadership—specifically figures like Starmer, Macron, and Merz—as having succumbed to a combination of socialist economic policies and woke cultural ideologies that have fundamentally weakened their military resolve. These leaders now rely on press releases and joint communiqués to project a veneer of power, while lacking the kinetic capability to enforce it. The recent European "Freedom of Navigation" initiative in the Strait of Hormuz is a prime example of this impotence, as it attempted to claim credit for a waterway only made safe by American and Israeli force. The Rise of the Middle East Axis In place of the "Old World" alliance, a new center of gravity has formed in the Middle East. This partnership, built on the expanded Abraham Accords, unites the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. Israel has moved from a protected client to a primary military surrogate, while the Saudi King has embraced American economic ideals of free-market capitalism and technological supremacy. This realignment is being physically realized as U.S. military assets migrate from legacy bases in Germany to strategic hubs in Saudi Arabia, such as the King Fahd Air Base. This move places the U.S. at the heart of the world's energy production, securing the "spigot" that fuels the global economy. The Energy Chokepoint as a Global Weapon Strategically, the Middle East has become the principal source of power because of its role as an energy chokepoint for America’s primary rival: China. Beijing’s reliance on Persian Gulf oil has created a vulnerability similar to the 1973 oil crisis in America. By securing this region, the U.S. has effectively gained a "throttle" over the Chinese industrial machine. This is a calculated asymmetric strike that uses regional alliances to achieve what decades of diplomatic containment could not. Hemispheric Dominance: The Monroe Doctrine Reborn While the pivot to the Middle East secures the East, the administration has simultaneously reasserted total dominance in the West. By deploying naval assets to the northern hemisphere to dismantle drug cartel water routes, the U.S. cleared the stage for Operation Absolute Resolve. The kinetic extraction of Nicolás Maduro and the securing of Venezuela’s massive oil assets have stripped China and Cuba of their most critical South American energy lifeline. These resources have been brought back into the American sphere, ensuring that "America First" is backed by physical control of the world's most valuable liquid assets. The End of Complacency in Iran The move against Iran was the final piece of the puzzle, made possible by the "celestial" convergence of the regime’s own arrogance and half a century of American restraint. For five administrations—from Carter through Biden—the Iranian leadership was conditioned to believe that the U.S. would never strike the heart of the regime. This complacency led them to expose their entire senior command structure during a period of supposed diplomatic negotiation. The subsequent decapitation of the regime’s leadership shattered forty-six years of "unwritten rules" and removed the final obstacle to the new Saudi-Israeli-American hegemony. Conclusion The world is no longer governed by the norms of international organizations, but by the strategic control of energy and the unapologetic exercise of American might.
