@Headteacherchat My approach is it’s my office and I will have it as I want it thank you v. much! I have balance of personal items/pics in the corner/desk in which I work at but then seating area to meet doesn’t have much in. Parents seem to like to see the personal pic/items, makes you ‘human’.

During a recent visit, my Trust Director smiled and asked: “You hold meetings in here?!” It’s made me reflect: what do you choose to display in your office or on your noticeboard? How do you balance a polished professional space with one that still feels personal—or clearly pupil-centred? I’d genuinely love to hear how others approach it.

@Headteacherchat @MrHtheteacher Been HoS in two schools and bit different in each but ultimately I have found you generally run the school from an operational point of view but work with EHT with some strategic aspects. Parents, chn and staff generally see you as ‘headteacher’ so will go to you rather than EHT

@Headteacherchat Yes but they did have to switch their focus from curriculum deep dives. IMO The last framework should have been tweaked with the judgements going completely and I would have liked to have seen 1 weeks notice like SIAMs.

A night of ofsted dreams (more like nightmares!) where @krishgm was the inspector quizzing me about attendance. Bizarre. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@RachelOrr I’ve always said they could learn from SIAMS but they are too tone deaf to take advice from others.

When I look at inspection reports under this new framework, there seems to a significant number simply at expected and those with elements needing attention. Why didn't the new framework just reflect that in a similar way the SIAMS inspection does. A pass and some improvements.

@DeputyGrocott No VAR which is a big plus! It’s a good league and a lot of fun but the finances of the prem mean you can’t stay in it for that long before becoming a mediocre club.

@justoneoftheta1 Not a bad shout. Would probably be the itchen though especially as one of the stands at St Mary’s is called ‘The Itchen’ Although I quite like the river Wantsum (you want some!) in Kent just for its name…

@DevelopingH @justoneoftheta1 Gary & I were walking and I said “feel the sun”. He says it’s much higher in the sky than it’s been recently. I said how the hell do you know, we haven’t seen it for months!

After some time apart in the darkness of January, myself and nature connected again today! It was quite the reunion!!
