Labour MP Naz Shah has written a gripping and jaw dropping book about her life growing up amid poverty and abuse, how her mother came to kill the man who abused her for years, how she was forced into a teenage marriage in Pakistan. In this Ways to Change the World she talks about how she went through all that to become an MP, and how British society is structured to 'keep people in poverty'. It’s a great listen. youtu.be/DElQdMWoKwQ?si…

“That is why Starmer attracts such visceral hostility. Not because he is secretly tyrannical or uniquely manipulative, but because he appears as the anthropomorphic embodiment of procedural Britain itself: the human face of the unread contract.”

An MP appeared to shout 'Not now, Andy!' after the door to the House of Commons was slammed in front of the Black Rod ahead of the King's Speech in parliament.
The joke may refer to Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, who is seen as a potential challenger for the Labour leadership against Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The tradition of the door being slammed in front of the monarch's messenger is customary ahead of the State Opening of Parliament.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said he won't resign in a high-stakes cabinet meeting in Downing Street.
80 Labour MPs have called for Starmer to quit but Starmer he is standing firm.
'He is so stubborn, I actually worry for his mental health' is what a backbench MP told Channel 4 News' political editor Gary Gibbon - but some loyalists say there are around 100 Labour MPs still backing the prime minister.
So what actually happened in that meeting?
