I completely get leaning primarily on the driver to make a call between slicks and inters. But to be asking your drivers which slick compound they should be on? Nah, the team has so much more information available from the other 18 cars. It felt pretty clear that having a fresh medium was an advantage for McLaren. Lando made the wrong call, Oscar the right. But they should never have been given a choice in the first place.
