@mjv__1 It’s because to lots of people status and hierarchy are the only things that matter Productivity? Efficiency? Nope Making sure no one gets “above themselves”? Crucial

@garethe1967 @hope_155 @muddy_gas_doc They cannot be in the room every time a bag gets filled though. It’s impossible. And if they have to decant from a over full bag it’s the equivalent to picking up off the floor. Our housekeeper is 9-5 Mon-Fri, imagine if we didn’t empty a single bad Friday 5pm to Monday!

We don’t have the money to do routine tasks so we’ll patronise people into doing it instead. Do these signs exist outside the NHS?

@DoctorSpud @apprenticesurg @RobLaurensonD4P Yes when you add in all other public sector pay and all the years of ps pension contributions etc and the fact that the rest of the public sector would be seen off.

@apprenticesurg @RobLaurensonD4P Pay first yes but not 30% as it's unaffordable. Conditions won't change just be a few more staying. You need to change working routines, how you are trained and employed. The empltememt model for JDs seem outdated and they shouldn't pay for training or pref memberships.

NEW: The British Medical Association (@TheBMA) has called for an immediate halt to the recruitment of Medical Associate Professionals (MAPs) in the UK including Physician Associates (PAs) and Anaesthetic Associates (AAs) on the grounds of public safety.

@Popoporoo87 @ColinaCoco Your very inception was used to divide the discipline of medicine. You are the tool of the conservative government to divide and conquer. You can’t have a race to the bottom with one workforce. You can with two.

The bullying of the Physician Associate profession needs to stop Enough is enough. Doctors misdiagnose patients from time to time, nurses can make mistakes also. We are all as healthcare professionals, bear the weight of responsibility that sometimes our errors cost lives.

@barrygravenell @TheBMA But we could afford it in 2007/08 and the treasury has more tax revenue now than back then even when you take into account inflation No new taxes required, just priorities

@DoctorSpud @TheBMA Ah yes pay a ludicrous wage increase, and then have all other public services demanding the same, the amount of people without a clue is unbelievable it really is. Where do you think that money comes from? That's right peoples taxes meaning further hikes that people can' afford

You have totally misunderstood and this post is wrong. Please delete and/or correct your mistake. Tom (a consultant) covered for junior doctors who were on strike at the time. [1/2]

@barrygravenell @TheBMA Absolutely! The Government should pay the £1bn for pay restoration instead of wasting £1.5bn on 25 days of strike days

@TheBMA So what part is misunderstood about a Doctor overcharging the NHS (taxpayer money) to cover a strike shift, and then giving it to your "war chest" to give to fund people striking!!? That is the misappropriation of taxpayer funds in my view!

It’s simply outrageous that neither the Prime Minister nor the Health Secretary are willing to sit down with doctors to avert next week’s industrial action. Doctors don’t want it, patients don’t want it, why won’t the Prime Minister act to prevent it?
Philip Banfield 💙@DrPhilBanfield

Good to meet today with an MP who’s door is actually open to talk about the issues impacting the NHS including doctors’ industrial action and NHS culture ⁦@wesstreeting⁩.
