Emergency departments are filled with ‘clinicians’ who couldn’t get into medical school, who are paid more than whatever doctors remain there. Meanwhile 13 of every 14 actual doctors who apply to work in emergency medicine are rejected. We truly live in upside down world where shortcuts, incompetence and mediocrity are rewarded. Wes Streeting has failed to negotiate on pay or jobs. We are again left with no choice but to strike. We will strike between 07:00 Wednesday 17th December and 06:59 Monday 22nd December. This will be a full walkout.

164,800 people waited over 12 hours in A&E last month. At the same time, 14 doctors are fighting for one A&E job. Patients are stuck in corridors while NHS doctors who want to work are blocked by Government caps on training jobs. The system is failing both staff & the public.

Fellow doctors, listen to the man that is holding back training numbers from you for no good reason. The reason doctors are out of work or in permanent SHO purgatory is because of this man. Patients, the reason you cant see a GP or get your new hip is because of this man.

Doctors in England earn £18.62/hr with £100,000 in student debt. £18.62/hr to save lives, care for your loved ones, & treat your child in an emergency. They’re asking for £22.67/hr; fair pay for critical work. @wesstreeting needs to pay NHS doctors fairly or we will lose them.
