@GenoWink @STwearer Kayla was not arrested for neglect, she and April were arrested for the drugs and had the charges dropped. Also when there is a drug/gun bust the kids are automatically taken but were returned at an unprecedented rate. You can criticize their behavior but at least be truthful.

@drterrysimpson Doctors used to be fairly good, after they decided that hand washing was important (which happened a lot later than you would think). The problem is now they’re pretty much bought by the pharmaceutical companies who definitely don’t want you healthy.

The notion that medicine wants people sick collapses under the slightest glance at history. Physicians helped create modern sanitation, vaccination, antibiotics, smoking cessation campaigns, and preventive medicine—all designed to reduce disease. Women are offered lower pay than men for the same job. Across >700k jobs, women were offered 5.5% less money than men, even after controlling for education, experience, employer, occupation, industry, and location. The value of work shouldn’t depend on the gender of the worker.

@MohammedAlo Firstly statins have to state that they do not lower the risk of heart attacks or stroke which is kind of its whole point. Secondly the brain is mostly cholesterol and lowering it could partially be the cause of so much Alzheimer’s disease.

Such a lack of understanding and intellect. Statins are some of the most well tolerated medications, with very minimal side effects, and incredible outcomes data that cost pennies a day. You can't make money off them. At least not as much as selling supplements.

@KristanHawkins If somebody chooses to take a life then they have chosen to forfeit theirs. The only problem is that it takes too long to conduct the penalty both from a jurisprudence standpoint as well as the length of the procedure.

@gotrice2024 Legally in most states whatever the stated price is has to be charged. If the restaurant didn’t update their menu prices than sadly they should eat the difference as a lesson

This woman went out to eat, she was handed a menu by the server and proceeded with her order. After she ate the server brought her the bill and the prices on the bill were much higher than what’s on the menu. The woman confronts the server, the server claims it’s an old menu and that they had to update their prices and refuses to honor the prices on the menu. Could this just be a mistake and an older menu was given, should the old prices be honored if that’s what was given to her originally?

Women are being arrested for miscarrying in states with strict abortion bans. They don’t charge them with a miscarriage, they charge them with “abuse of a corpse” What are we supposed to do? Take the fetal remains to the police station? Pregnancy is not safe in these states.

@AngelMD1103 I cannot comment specifically on this case without more information, however in most states if you’re not a month to month tenant than the lease transfers to the new owner. There is no “house is sold get out” legally and they could sue him.

A family has been renting a house for years, raising their kids there, building routines, filling every room with memories. One afternoon, the landlord suddenly shows up with his wife, furious and yelling that the house has been sold and they need to leave immediately. No warning. No plan. Their furniture still inside, nowhere lined up to move, shock written all over their faces. This feels deeply unfair. A house may be an investment to a landlord, but to a family, it’s home. Even if laws allow sales, basic communication and decency should never be optional. Stability shouldn’t disappear overnight. How can families feel secure renting when something this drastic can happen without notice?

The reason it’s $170,000 is because back in the 1960s that was considered an unfathomable amount. Even pegging the cap to inflation would do wonders for the solvency of the program.

@Driczone @JohnStossel The cap is actually about $170k. The reason it exists is because there is also a cap on how much social security one can receive. People who make more than $170k get completely screwed because they pay in far more than they can ever get out. You are not entitled to their money.

Social Security and Medicare are like a ticking time bomb! Yet most politicians promise not to touch these “entitlements.” Those politicians are either lying or ignorant. Unless we raise retirement age, cut benefits, or privatize, the explosion is coming.
