@thebricksession @bbculp @IRONMANtri Are the reports of changing the course when athletes were in the water correct? I can understand if circumstances changed and the intentions were to improve safety but I can imagine the havoc/panic that would create in even a non choppy environment

I will be chatting to @bbculp later (few days) in more detail about the tragic deaths/circumstances from @IRONMANtri Ireland at the weekend. It seems poor decision making and weak leadership resulted in athletes being exposed to undue dangers.

A little story. I was in Latvia 10 years ago tonight. Prestatyn Town, one of the smallest British clubs (av crowd 227) to reach Europe, played pro side Liepajas Metalurgs in a EL qualifier. Metalurgs won first leg in Wales, played at Rhyl as Prestatyn's ground wasn't licensed 1/5
