@ESWAT In Japan, the first week in May in Japan is a holiday period, so it’s a bit difficult for us.😭 By the way, would you be able to come to Kyoto in the first week of June?

今年の5月1ヶ月間。台湾の台東と花蓮でTaiwan Digital Fest 2026が開催されます。昨年から規模がパワーアップ。 特に日本人向けには第3週目がオススメとのことです。 fest.dna.org.tw

@marclou Thought at first it would be matching founders based on how high their MRR is 😂

I made TinderMRR. Instead of people, you swipe on startups for sale. Swipe right to acquire. Swipe left to pass. All startups have verified revenue from Stripe, LemonSqueezy, etc. It's connected to my $1.2B database of verified startups, TrustMRR. Goal: Someone buys a $50k MRR SaaS because they swiped right on the toilet > trustmrr.com/tinder-mrr

If you have a side project, share below. I'll retweet some interesting ones to give you more attention 😄 I'll do this every month to encourage more people to build side projects and escape 9-5.

🏘️ I've always wanted to help create a popup in South Korea, and here it is! We're heading out of the busy cities, where you can see the stars. Live, work and co-create with other curious minds in a region of South Korea experimenting with Universal Basic Income (UBI).

@yongfook I noticed a lot of "did I stutter?" moments with the new iOS. I tap on a button. The button changes visually so I know it knew I tapped it. Then… nothing happens? + a million other tiny annoyances Time to call an audible, Apple.

@PromptLLM I think playing this with friends during the pandemic helped remove my mental roadblocks that were present due to the physical confinement.

would recommend anyone who has some downtime over this week to download and play factorio. Playing it has completely rewired by brain and changed how I see the world. It teaches you how to think and solve problems when your brain is at max capacity. the game is actually mandatory for employees at some tech companies. There should be school curriculum around factorio.

@arvidkahl Sort of reminds me of people complaining when the web went from table layouts to divs and CSS.

Embrace agentic coding or don't. Up to you. But don't complain about "not seeing results" or "not getting it" without putting in the effort to learn a new skill. Some people spend 2 years trying to fry the perfect egg. You might want to spend more than 15min with Claude Code.

Nomad Cruise changed their itinerary due to the situation between China and Japan. A stop in Jeju, South Korea, was also collateral damage. Curious what the long-tail effects of the situation will be on tourism and DNs.

@chancecollabs The narrative of being citizens of the Internet just started, and we’re already aligning ourselves as residents of specific provinces (blockchains). Not sure what to make of this TBH.

Realization: 🇨🇦 hasn't had a unicorn visible to the general public / B2C in a while. BlackBerry is limping. ATI got absorbed. Element AI et al. were too early or stayed researching for too long. All we have are Shopify, 1Password, Cohere, Constellation and OpenText, mostly B2B.

I’ve been feeling more of the former since I’ve spent more time in Japan & Korea. The pressure to chill during the winter holidays is a lot less. But they tend to not take time off here when you can tell they absolutely need to. So the idea of not chilling just because it’s the end of the year sounds fine. But absolutely take time off when you feel that you need to.

Part of me feels like, if I don’t feel like stopping then why stop. It’s fun to be in motion and inspired. Another feels like I haven’t taken a proper full day off in a long time and it’s probably good to do so.

There are so many exciting things I want to catch up on and do these holidays, mostly related to work. But I also want to take time to decompress and rest my mind properly ahead of a big year next year. How do people find a balance?

@irie_workcation On the point of no chain stores being good for workations: that may be the reverse for foreign nomads. For tourists it's another thing, they want to maximize novelty, But nomads will likely go to what's familiar at first, namely chain コンビニ they know they can pay with card.

岩田佑介『図解 労務入門』@yusuke_iwata_sr
