yeah, I'm _that_ FalconFour. Give your chrome-trimmed Model 3 a CCS retrofit here: teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/re… Here to answer your questions -- at least on the alternating days I'm poking my head into the broken state of Twitter.

@CHPAlerts @SanJosePD @CHP_HQ This is what the alert looks like when it's blasted. A generic bitly link with no information unless you click the link - something I would fully expect from a compromised system, not a legitimate source. Every security expert would tell you not to click it.

@CHPAlerts @SanJosePD .@CHP_HQ This is HORRIBLY-executed as a blasted emergency alert on mobile: * it's not a government site (bitly is generic/public/freely scammable) * it has a sense of urgency (click now! your life is in danger!) * people that did click it report being asked to log-in (phishing)

@Disco77Cowboy @virtuallyleslie @MyLordBebo Pardon my intrusion, but your post came up while searching literally for that statement. The @Waymo account hasn't posted anything whatsoever about this, and I'm still left looking for it. So hi, I found your rant before I was able to locate "Waymo's X statement" 🫠

Power outage in San Francisco made all autonomous cars just stop where they are. They can’t do anything. Crazy

@Jzach654321 @Breaking911 One of the best things a company can do is "chaos engineering" - unpredictably break things in a test environment to see what else breaks where it wasn't expected. A failure like this should prove valuable to @Waymo. I'd guess a failsafe for individual cars, not tested at scale.

@Breaking911 Um I don't get it? it is not like they were running on a long plugged in cord. if the batteries were charged they would not stop running no more than the electrical components of a gas fueled car would quit working because the power went out. Could someone explain?????

@wholemars Character limit, limits nuance - it only happens when climate is in manual mode. I use Auto mode 98% of the time. When I do use manual mode in that 2% of the time, *I want manual controls* and that's why it was annoying.

@wholemars Been a thing for a while. I found it slightly annoying as I wanted to just have outside air & no heat/AC (cold outside, wearing jacket inside, going for range) - and it's like "OwO i sense fogging!" and overrides my controls. I don't like having manual control taken away. 🤷‍♂️

@FluxNatural @Project_RCC "User input is error" is intended to mean that if a user provides input, it should be treated as a training opportunity for the system to be better at being automatic. The problem is only that they're removing user input instead of being better.

“User input is error” is actually a huge mistake many control systems engineers initially make. I did too, until I realized humans are part of the control loop. It’s why I absolutely hate the new type of air conditioning systems in cars that got rid of the red/blue dial and replaced it with a temperature number and 2-3 temperature sensors. The problem is, doesn’t matter what those sensors say. What matters is how I FEEL. There needs to be a sensor for that (and i don’t know how u do that exactly). Anyway, now it’s always too hot or too cold and i wish i could just turn the dial to what i want the temp of the air blowing out to be. The same thing is going to be the case with FSD. People will feel it’s going too fast or too slow, and that will depend on road conditions, mood, what they are doing, personal preferences, etc. This part of the control system is going to be difficult to solve, but just give people the option to say “hey, could you go a little slower/faster?”

"User input is error" - Tesla. So in V13 you set your max speed offset to x% and basically drove in standard, giving the car the ability to go up to the max speed. Now, you constantly need to roll wheel between Sloth, Chill, Stand, Hurry and Mad Max? User input much?

@mehauff7 @Waymo Don't discount San Jose (/whole SF Bay area). It was SF city only for a long time but only recently FINALLY opened up to millions more users. I just used it this past weekend from home for the first time. Still over-constrained area tho & waiting for freeway access!

@cybrtrkguy @itskyleconner A billion times better than diesel engines and electric heaters tho. Fair compomise - use the efficient drive train & use combustion for heat where heat is needed. Dramatically improves the efficiency of "burning stuff".

@meowkoteeq @MejaActual lifehack: every month just open a new account and transfer it out there *assuming it's the balance that doubles, not the amount received, but the literal wording suggests the amount received doubles & the system would completely break the very next day anyway

@Project_RCC Is that really how v14 is? I was very upset hearing v14 would not allow user to control speed. I have always driven by "coded speed" in my own driving - speed limit with offset based on lane choice. With HW3 I don't get to see v14 (lite) for a while. Don't like "predicted" speed.

I was just thinking how ironic it is that we went from V13 - an almost sentient experience by setting a max speed and allowing the car to contextually predict the road speed and use the offset to efficiently and safely drive to a coded speed based on literal speed limit in V14. @AIDRIVR

@grok @TeslaTruckClub @Project_RCC Seems like most news reports as if FSD is just "running red lights" which smells an awful lot like the misreporting of FSD "running stop signs" when it just did the most-complete stop of most drivers (but not fully zero MPH). Nuance is hard for media pursuing clickbait. But cool!

Hey, that FSD creeping at red lights could be from training on human driving data, where folks often inch forward to anticipate greens or improve visibility. It's meant to feel natural, but reports of similar issues have sparked NHTSA probes in 2025 for signal compliance. Tesla's team is iterating—report it if it persists! 😂

Lots of discussion over the past few years about stop signs. Thanks to @Project_RCC for digging into the laws. He's spent a lot of time getting to the bottom of this, and I made a simple graphic to show how it works. Both of us have stops where it does not stop in the right place, causing frustration when using FSD. This is what the law says. Stop sign location doesn't matter. Stop sign just means "full stop at this intersection". It does not mean "stop right here". If there is a stop line/crosswalk, THAT is where you are required to stop. If there is not a stop line, you are required to stop where you can see traffic. This is what FSD should do in different scenarios. NHTSA's requirement is "come to a full stop, not a rolling stop" @aelluswamy @Tesla_AI

@TeslaTruckClub @Project_RCC However (character limit yay!) I have also started seeing FSD (HW3) doing the worst actions of human drivers: "anticipate and creep" at a red light. More than 3 times now, I've had FSD start creeping forward while the light was red at the point traffic pattern appeared green soon
