It is incredibly frustrating to hear Angela Rayner treat state-mandated digital exclusion as an "easy fix" and low-hanging political fruit.
The implications of a blanket ban are far from simple. Enforcing these restrictions will fundamentally alter how all of us interact with the digital world, inevitably ending the right to online anonymity.
On top of this, the evidence from Australia is already clear: prohibition is failing. Polling shows that over 60% of teens still have active accounts, with 70% of those users reporting it was "easy" to circumvent the rules using VPNs or entering fake birthdays.
With Keir Starmer currently facing intense political pressure over the future of his leadership, we cannot risk this draconian and unworkable policy being fast-tracked simply to appease backbenchers or secure a quick political "legacy".
We urge all potential Labour leadership candidates to clearly outline their positions on digital rights. We need an evidence-led approach that forces unaccountable Big Tech monopolies to fix their toxic, profit-driven algorithms, not a blind imitation of Australia’s failed experiment.

Everyone is panicking about @RestoreBritain_ splitting @reformparty_uk vote and allowing Burnham to win.
The panic is misplaced.
The worst political outcome would be Restore stepping aside to allow Reform a victory.
With its current direction of travel, Reform offers the country no redemption. By stepping aside, Restore would concrete in Reform’s hopelessness.
Restore must fight this election and do the best it can. If it were to gain 7% of the vote, as predicted, that would send an earth quake through Reform.
Reform might then correct its ways.
A Burnham victory makes not a blind bit of difference to the country. Labour has a 156 seat majority. Whether Burnham or some other idiot from Labour becomes PM makes no difference.
And for those worried about an early general election - turkeys do not vote for Christmas. It is not happening.
Restore and Rebecca Shepherd must fight this by election tooth and nail.
I know @_AdvanceUK supporters are already in Makerfield campaigning on their behalf. I will help where I can.

Obviously there's a long way to go. But one thing I'd be prepared to bet money on. Whatever the accuracy of that poll, the Lib Dem and Green vote will get squeezed more in Labour's favour. And Restore will secure a higher vote share than they're currently polling.

This 👇🏼. It has been proved over & over, doing physical activity benefits all aspects of a young person (and older persons 🤣) life. Sadly children are doing less every year on average. And more in front of screens often whilst eating rubbish

Something I noticed when I visited China was public schools always started their days off with a run. A school in Naperville, Illinois, did an experiment on this and called it "Zero Hour". Before school, students would hit the gym at 7am and push their heart rates to 80% of their max. Then went on to do class. The result? Reading scores doubled. Math scores jumped 20x. On an international test, Naperville 8th graders finished 1st in science (beating Singapore) and 6th in math globally. Some of my entrepreneur clients swear by doing cardio in the morning. They say it keeps their brain sharp. I don't disagree. Cardio isn't just for your heart. It's brain fuel. Exhaust the body to sharpen the mind.
