@DougPolkVids In my experience, Doyle playing cards tend to be very sexist.
English

@DougPolkVids If you self censor bc people throw tantrums you’re letting them get their way.
They want to shut out reasonable perspectives bc their ideas can’t stand up to them. A big part of how culture got crazy the past few years was bc decent people were deterred from speaking up.

In 2020, I voted for Biden. I only posted about it after the election. I enjoyed lots of positive comments and support about it. Foolishly I thought this was because people liked me sharing my opinion.
In 2024, I voted for Trump. I had a single tweet about it after the election. Since then, I have recieved thousands of attacks on me across all the social platforms. DM's telling me to kill myself. Threads about how I'm the problem with America. I personally passed the gambling tax. I am the enemy. I am a nazi. You name it.
This has been a learning experience for me in a few ways.
1) I dont view people differently based on who they voted for. They are trying to make their best choice. But that is NOT how other people view it. A vote against my guy means I hate you.
2) Its particularly bad to post anything indicating support for the right. Anyone who voted R is evil and only did so for nefarious reasons.
3) I do not think its worth sharing political opinions unless you actually enter politics. Who knows if that will happen for me down the road, but I dont see myself taking such tremendous grief again for just sharing my opinions on the election.

@VanessaSelbst Left/right dichotomy is fake. A manipulative distraction.
Don’t fall for it.

Like yeah there’s problems on both sides of the political aisle but no more of this both sides shit. The modern GOP is the most morally vacant group to ever hold political office in civilized society (for a million reasons not just this) Full stop.

BREAKING: The PELOSI Act to stop politicians, the Vice President, and the President from trading stocks passed an 8-7 vote in the Senate Committee to go to the Senate to be voted on. Who voted against it? Rand Paul (R-KY) Ron Johnson (R-WI) James Lankford (R-OK) Rick Scott (R-FL) Bernie Moreno (R-OH) Joni Ernst (R-IA) Roger Marshall (R-KS)

@MattGlantz It all depends on the intent. Presumably the intent is positive/friendly so it’s not racist.
English

This is so racist and I love it.
Etay knows it's racist but would never say anything and would never care anyway.
Phil has no idea it's racist, would never try to offend anyone, and this comes genuinely from his heart.
Etay is like a sister to me & Phil is a dear friend. ❤️❤️

Proud of Etay! Great run in the @WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship!! #POSITIVITY

Any male participant attempting to enter the ladies event through WSOP+ or at the cage will be required to pay an additional $9,000 or will be removed from the tournament.
Steph Chung@Pokerella
Ironically had this chat with a guy at my @WSOP table a few days ago. He made it all the way to the Payment window on WSOP+ of the actual Ladies event (not the Satty) WHILE clicking the $1k option. (He clicked out.) When is he forced to pay an additional $9k, if ever? 🤔
English

@Barry59700119 @MattGlantz Yeah I’m an attorney at a multibillion dollar investment firm lol.
Is a memorandum binding?
English

@FindingEQ @MattGlantz Have you ever been involved in drafting/reviewing a contract? I have. They all have end dates and/or termination provisions. If not, you can't unilateral out of it. This stuff has been litigated in courts.
English

Plz correct me if I am wrong...
When the Soviet Union collapsed in the early 1990s, Ukraine was left with one of the largest nuclear arsenals in the world. To protect ourselves and the world, the USA made a deal with Ukraine so that Ukraine would dismantle all of their nukes and in turn, we, the USA, would defend their people and their country from any future threats to their sovereignty.
30 years later we are no longer going to defend the Ukrainian people and renege on our promise partly because their President won't publicly kneel and kiss the ring of our President.
English

If it was a legally binding treaty that said it was indefinite.
But instead it was a non binding memorandum that didn’t mention a date. It basically just relies upon our good will and reasonableness.
We adhered to it for 30 years and have spent hundreds of billions of dollars while we are in 35t of debt and our own people are suffering from poverty, fires, hurricane, crime etc.
My opinion is that we did our part. Yes it’s subjective but it’s reasonable.
It’s totally unreasonable however to assume a non binding memorandum obligates us perpetually. For example, if China invaded America would we still be obligation ? Obviously not so you are wrong.
English

@FindingEQ @MattGlantz What would convince that you the agreement was intended to have an indefinite end?
English

@DaRealWitz @FindingEQ @MattGlantz That’s most people’s understanding. If you have a different one, please tell me the implied end date.
English

@abarber1 @MattGlantz You really think you’re on the right side of this debate simply because you assume your conclusion?
English

@FindingEQ @MattGlantz You really think you’re on the right side of this debate simply because you don’t like the implied terms of the agreement? Is it really so hard to be an honest broker?
English

@MattGlantz Well, they should have negotiated that into a treaty.
Too bad.
English

@FindingEQ Seems to me that giving up an entire nuclear arsenal would be worth a couple generations min in security.
English

The intent is ambiguous so it makes sense to apply a reasonableness concept.
It is unreasonable to think the memo persists forever regardless of what Ukraine does.
30 years and hundreds of billions of dollars, I would argue are sufficient.
America is $35T in debt. Time to focus on our issues instead of fighting a war that can't be won and is just throwing young lives into the woodchipper.
But, sure, keep living in your GTO fantasy land.
English

@FindingEQ So there is no end date to this deal correct? And you want me to know when the contract runs out?
English

@MattGlantz Do you really think the intent was that America would continue to protect Ukraine against everyone into perpetuity regardless of what it does?
English

1. It's silly to believe that the US' obligations under the Budapest Memorandum were perpetual.
2. In 2014 Ukraine, with the aid of the CIA, couped its duly elected president.
3. In response to the coup, eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, who mostly speak Russian, democratically decided to secede.
4. In response to 3, the Ukraine government started to cluster bomb its own citizens killing thousands of women and children.
5. In response to 4, Russia decided to intervene to save these people who are ethnically Russian.
English

Just in case anyone doesn't follow politics enough to understand what is happening and isn't clear on why yesterday's meeting is so horrific to so many, it's because in 1994 the Ukraine was convinced to relinquish over 1000 nukes in exchange for a promise it would be defended by the US against invasions exactly like the one Russia has instigated.
In addition, the claim Zelensky hasn't been thankful is a bunch of bullshit, because he even stood before Congress and thanked every single American for their support in defending them versus Russia's unjustified attack (I'll find a video of it and post below).
So in effect, the US has failed to protect the Ukraine, reneging on their protection agreement which leaves them virtually defenseless, and is instead trying to extort it for resources and give up stolen territory in exchange for a promise from Russia to withdraw (a meaningless promise from country well known for going back on their word as soon as they feel like it).
In the process they are desperately trying to make Zelensky out to be some kind of unreasonable or bad guy, when I don't think he could have been a better leader in an impossible situation. Many leaders would have filed, but he has stayed and fought with his country. This sudden claim that Ukraine somehow chose this war or is equally at fault or has been a bad leader is a straight attempt to gaslight the public. Trump and Vance were intentionally condescending and insulting hoping to provoke him into a reaction they could turn into some kind of clip they could use to make him look bad - it was absolutely a premeditated conscious move on their part.
And through all of this, the US for the first time is openly aligning itself with an untrustworthy dictator who abuses his people, cares only about power, and is intentionally alienating the faithful allies who operate their countries with best efforts to do the right thing.
The US has by far the world's largest military and it openly aligning itself with power hungry abusive dictators is shocking and very bad for basically the entire world.
English

@mcgoatey @RoofTopKrn Are you retarded?
I have made exactly 0 off of poker for over a year.
English

@FindingEQ Took a break from espousing Nazi ideals to try and make a buck off people who are mostly unaware of your other account @RoofTopKrn huh?
Funny. Why don't you promulgate the same Jew hatred on this account? Oh. It's almost like you're aware that would be bad for business lmao
