Today’s lesson is water supplies. As part of it the students have been tasked with identifying the nearest hydrant to the building the lecture is being delivered in. The discussion then was is this an adequate supply for the size and type of building and its engineered solutions

First year class today took us off campus to look at different building construction design, materials used in construction, and some engineered fire safety solutions. It ended in the old Chubb building where the coffee and cakes went down rather well. @wlv_uni

We used image based scenarios today, on the Fire Investigation module, to test the student learning half way through the module. Class discussions followed. These two, much like the rest of the class, really got into it. @wlv_uni #fire #firetraining #firecadet

Earlier this week it was a pleasure to facilitate an exercise we have designed to assess Senior Fire Officers, in this case the new CFO of @SWFireandRescue, in their ability to perform the role of Incident Command. Allowing the award of Skills for Justice qualifications.
