@DamonZumbroegel India’s big brother attitude is the main problem. Indians feel they are superior becoz their country is big. So when Nepal stands up for itself, they say “Being small country, how dare they speak? Showing us attitude?” Nobody likes that coz when it comes to nation, all are equal.

@MaChucchi @libangi13 PR, citizenship make life so much easier outside. It gives freedom to visit Nepal without worry & lets you stay in US with more rights & opportunities. It gives power to visit more countries without worrying about visa. It gives freedom and ease in doing things.

@MaChucchi @libangi13 In US, immigrants have to maintain their legal status to stay. F1 visas can only work few hours on campus. They must get OPT, H1B or join school to be legal later. Tourist visas cannot work at. And without PR, people are often offered lower salaries and fewer opportunities.

@mountain_apache @DamonZumbroegel Nepal ko nahi deta hai, nepal ka naam karke kuch leaders k pocket mein deta hai or unko kharidke apna chalaya hai. Big difference.

@DamonZumbroegel Nepal standing up for itself! But Nepal needs Indian foods and petroleum products to stand on its legs. The best is to shed ego & maintain working relationship, at least, with immediate neighbors India & China, without which they can suffocate us. Nepal needs practical diplomacy.

@shivakumar00740 @DamonZumbroegel @alhadh_Pahadi Every action done in nepal for nepal is not an attack on India. Stop taking everything personally. Him trying to secure his country is not attacking india, him imposing tax on people is not attacking india. He is just trying to improve nepal. Typical entitled, grandiose attitude.

@DamonZumbroegel @alhadh_Pahadi Nepal’s future depends on strong institutions, accountability, and unity... not framing India as villain India isn’t “the big bad” here... despite the "politics", India has been Nepal’s closest partner in trade, jobs, culture, and crisis support for decades

@alhadh_Pahadi @DamonZumbroegel Read the comments in these posts & you’ll know the bullying attitude from indians towards nepalese. The entitlement, sense of grandiosity has been so normal for so long that the pm standing up for him, asking for the equal treatment became a threat & they’re saying “How dare he”.

Knodding my head through your answer in agreement with what you're saying. Living in the same land for much much more than 33 years, having generations of linkage through the both nations. Having my father be involved in Nepalese Education System. Being the witness to the horrifying murder spree that took place in the RajMahal. Knowing people personally getting affected by the Maoists. I'd still say I would know a tab bit more on this, it's Not the way to go with India. This notion of a big nation being a big bully and small nation being a victim is a very, capital-communo Outlook, not native to us. We inherently don't see nations as something that can be captured. There'll always be a difference.

This is a recent enforcement of stricter ID checks at land border checkpoints (as of May 9-10, 2026), not a full overhaul of the long-standing open-border policy.
