"90% of parents abort children with Trisomy 21" is not true 90% of parents who test for T21 abort if the result is positive, but only 25-50% of parents test 1 in 700 live births has T21. If 90% of T21 pregnancies were aborted, that would mean 1 in 70 fetuses has T21. Absurd.

I think I’m just too potentially autistic to not be pro-life. My logic is as follows: Human lives have inherent value Killing innocent humans is bad Unborn children are innocent humans The layers of maternal skin between us making them impossible to see with the naked eye don’t make them less human The size of the human doesn’t change their value The age of the human doesn’t change their value Abortion kills unborn humans and turns them into medical waste Abortion is bad It’s an unbreakable autistic logic train for me. You can disagree with any or all of the steps of that logic train. I can’t be convinced any of those steps are incorrect. I’ve delivered a 19 week old. Alive for maybe an hour. She was undeniably a unique human life. I held her. I dressed her. It’s just not possible for me to advocate killing her.

You cannot claim that you’re aborting your Down syndrome child because you don’t want him to “suffer.” First of all, killing a child so they don’t suffer is psychopath serial killer logic. You’re on the same moral plane as Andrea Yates. Second, children with Down syndrome are famously some of the happiest people you’ll ever meet in your life. They are not in fact living in a state of perpetual torment. So what’s really happening is that you’re killing your child so that YOU won’t suffer the inconvenience of caring for him. This is about freeing yourself of your own perceived suffering. If you’re going to be a child killing sociopath, at least be honest about it.
