Went for a glorious ride on a Thames Clipper. The western end of the journey was sunshine, however coming east things changed…I came across this iPhone picture I had forgotten about, the gloom and cold over The House of Parliament just about sums up world politics at the moment.

Beautiful earlyish morning light coming through the blinds this morning…..could this be a hint for summer ? #wanstead #summer #eastlondon

We have a small collection of cameras on display at the Gallery, we started with one or two but now we seem to have become a home for stray cameras…

...And the photogenic cat has arrived safely in its new home and is looking smashing on the wall! It's not often I get to see pictures published or limited editions hanging on the buyers wall, it's lovely and encouraging to see.

Sad to see this particular photograph go but we are a Gallery so pictures do come and go. This particular one will be missed, so many people admire it when they pop in. It’s a limited edition photograph part of the Spitalfields series that did, it’s now off to a new home.

We had a fantastic night last Thursday at a fundraising dinner and quiz held at The Cuckfield, Wanstead to raise funds for the Wanstead War Memorial Restoration Project. 100 local Wanstead residents joined together to raise over £2,000 on the night.

One of the benefits of living near Epping Forest is when the sun shines, as it did today, it’s easy to have a wonderful stroll around a lake or pond….could this be the start of summer ?

I do love A2 prints, this one, mounted and framed, is off to a new home in #Wales. Modern pubs don’t seem to get ‘steamed up windows’ anymore however I found the wonderful ’Globe’ pub in Globe Road, #bethnalgreen just perfect, it makes the interior so inviting..

Whitechapel Road on a very rainy night, the shopping goes on however. I’m sure there was a child’s nursery rhyme ’rain, rain, go away come again another day’, there doesn’t seem much chance of it going anywhere at the moment…. #rainydays #towerhamlets #blackandwhitephotograph

Working my way through hundred of pictures for an upcoming project later in the year. It’s fascinating looking back on your work, everyone should do it from time to time, pictures that you were pleased with at the time now seem less so and of course the reverse.

So good to reopen the gallery and get back to working with all the pictures after the heart recovery period. As you can see from the picture with the ladder etc we’re having a little clear out and rearranging things but most importantly back in business.

As necessary as it was I’m not very good at taking it easy ,even, at home when recouperating after the operation. So it was a wonderful treat when family to whisked me off to lovely #finchingfield in Essex for a break, ice cream and sunshine what more can you ask…

This week I met a photographer whose pictures inspired me to become a photographer all those years ago. @SirkkaLK Sirkka Liisa Konttinen is Finnish but made her name in the north east of England during the 1980s documenting life in and around Newcastle. She’s also a great swimmer
