UK Special Envoy Richard Lindsay has reiterated that the TTP is a terr0rist organization and called on authorities in Kabul and Kandahar to take decisive measures against the group’s activities. In a televised interview, he pointed to the continued existence of safe havens, training camps, weapons flows, financial support, and cross-border facilitation as key drivers of regional instability. Lindsay stressed that Afghan territory should not be used by terr0rist groups to threaten neighboring countries. He emphasized that responsibility for addressing TTP activities lies with the authorities currently exercising control in Afghanistan and highlighted the need to dismantle support networks that enable violence and insecurity. The UK envoy also acknowledged that every state has the legitimate right to self-defense against clear and imminent terr0rist threats. While affirming this principle, he underscored the importance of conducting counterterr0rism efforts responsibly and minimizing civilian harm. His remarks reflect growing international concern over TTP activities and the need for collective action to deny terr0rist groups safe operating space.
