Over the last few days, I have been inundated with British Muslims sharing their experiences of both racism and anti-Muslim hostility. Asking me to cover their stories.
Hundreds of emails and DMs across my inboxes.
Several common feelings expressed is the distrust in sharing these incidents with legacy media and "nothing happens" when the police are called.
Islamophobia and racism is under reported and the current statistics do not reflect the true number.
One Muslim mother has told me how her daughter has been subjected to continuous singling out by teachers at her school. One teacher even went to the extent of saying "remove your hijab if you cannot hear me".
If the likes of Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson and Rupert Lowe do not get pulled up for their hateful inflammatory language around migrants and Muslims, things like this are only going to get worse.

A Muslim woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, sent me this video claiming that her white neighbour attacked her home with a sledgehammer and threatened to kill her children. When Muslims and ethnic minorities take the necessary measures to defend their homes and families, they will be the ones demonised by the political establishment and media elite.

Those who use social media to incite violence and disorder are breaking the law. Next week we will lay in Parliament an update to the Online Safety Act requiring services to take quicker action to remove illegal content circulating during times of crisis.

This is possibly the saddest thing I've seen in a long time..an immigrant nurse talking about fleeing her home..she saved her UNIFORM. So she could still WORK for our communities.
