Graph shows that levels of debt skyrocketed, quadrupled between 2003/4 to 2006/7 Guess who bought SEW in 2003 and sold it again in 2006? Yep, the Australian vampire kangaroo Macquarie. Macquarie then moved on to Thames Water and we all know what happened there. After dumping TW Macquarie moved on to Southern Water a company currently on Ofwat's financial sh*t list. Three water companies, all financially devastated, lumbering customers with billions of pounds worth of debt and all with one common thread, Macquarie. No mention of any of that in govt's hapless white paper.
