Jon Scheyer is one of the best coaches in college basketball. This narrative that some are trying to create that he is overrated is ridiculous. He has a better resume in 4 years than some coaches have for their career. Duke men’s basketball is in good hands.

@SNethers76145 @M_Bulger19 I do not see one of the top academic schools in the country doing that. Stanford hasn’t either.
I agree that it’s a handicap, but we also make our guys go to classes (the coaches are INTENSE about this and have been since before Coach K) and maintain a GPA.

Duke has not lowered transfer standards at this time (this is my understanding)

@Hankla @M_Bulger19 We had coward he just decided to stay in the draft. Hopefully after the 1st year of nil Duke relaxed the transfer credit process.

@SNethers76145 @M_Bulger19 The issue Duke faces in the portal is we almost exclusively can only bring in grad transfers. Very very few other players academically qualify to transfer into Duke and Duke does take that seriously.
We almost had Cedric Coward.
We got Maliq.
The rest are almost all grads

I’d like him to get away from these 4-6 freshman classes every year. Get 2 elite 1&done players take on 1 kid to develop and hopefully he sticks around. Hit the portal for 3-4yr players. No difference than a 1&done FR

It’s been 11 years since the last natty. If Duke didn’t get another one last year or this year, you have to begin to wonder if/when it’s going to happen again.

@Jholt915 @CPark_1985 I watched every game, always do, and I still felt surprised when we won big ones. We won 35 games this year and I never felt the swagger that used to feel natural.

I wondered if Duke as a program would rebound from last year up until 30 mins ago they did just that.
I just don’t know what you tell your players - how do you say “we’ll get em next year”
