@Deej9876 @SandyofSuffolk @suespensley Came here to say the same thing my two children’s grandparents still work. Thankfully working from home makes it easier to do drop off (nursery) and get back before a computer rather then having to commute

@SandyofSuffolk @suespensley I know, I’m pulling your leg but where grandparents used to help with a bit of childcare when they got to 60/65 the poor buggers are working until they’re 67.

The excuse 'We need breakfast clubs at school so we can get to work on time' won't wash. Either get a job starting at 9.30 or pay a childminder or family member to look after your child at 8am and take them to school at 9. Like we used to. And don't forget to brush their teeth and use the loo instead of nappies before you pop off to work too. Like we used to.

Genuinely curious—why don’t more people use their own parents/kid’s grandparents for childcare as opposed to daycare/preschool/nannies (which seem more common)? Is it common for boomer grandparents to show disinterest in their grandchildren?
