This morning, our Council is hearing about our community’s efforts regarding homelessness. We continue to have some of the lowest homelessness numbers among all large U.S. cities. Below is how we stack up against the nation’s top 50 cities (ranked by homelessness per capita). 🧵

The irony of reactionaries like this is they'll spend thousands of $$$ to mitigate and punish homelessness when we could raise our taxes a little bit and house every person that needs one. They'd rather be out here building "shelter from bums." Hope the city drags this one out.

The Ignatian Spirituality Project will host a memorial event to recognize these individuals. It will take place at 10 a.m. on Jan. 14 at 8th Street Church, 701 NW 8th St. in downtown OKC.

Welcome home, Tony & Rhonda! Tony experienced homelessness for 14 yrs & Rhonda lived without a home for 3 yrs. Thanks to supporters like you, they celebrated their first holiday back in housing. They now have the safety of a home & don't have to worry about the Oklahoma weather.

About a week before the cold front swept through, we celebrated an early Christmas at our Day Shelter. We served a special lunch and handed out gift bags to all of our guests – thanks to all of you who donated!
