If he truly had prioritized winning over ego and greed, LeBron James would've started taking the veteran minimum a long time ago. Now he might be forced to, if he wants to keep living year-round in LA and finish as a Laker.

@_JasonLT - there are literally metrics that do exactly this. And SGA is above Wemby in all of them. (SGA led Wemby in PER, WS/48, Box Plus/Minus, and Value Over Replacement Player) Do you not understand how analytics work? Do you realize how dumb this argument is when it can literally be disproven on its one and only basis by every single stat that encapsulates offensive and defensive impact as one number?

@HoopsReceipts @RealSkipBayless You seem to care enough to make a comment. You’re feeding into it man! You show you don’t care by ‘not’ making a comment, yet you did, and millions of others did as well in the NBA universe. Ha

Ok we’re getting somewhere here. 1) affects ≠ diminished > that’s a very clear non sequitur to the conclusion being debated. Nobody disagrees teams were affected. 2) the facts you just laid out were an objective disadvantage to the Lakers, due to them losing home court advantage (hence my referencing them as the only 1 seed to win a title in American pro sports history without home court advantage). Do you agree with one or either of those statements?

@HoopsReceipts @stoolpresidente Yes facts matter. The facts are that a neutral court affects play for all teams involved. No travel affects play for all teams involved. No fans affects play for all teams involved. Shortened season affects all teams involved. This championship will always be an anomaly.

I’ve never been the biggest Lebron fan but anybody saying his career as a Laker so far hasn’t been a major flop is doing a disservice to LeBron. Obviously we’re not counting the micky mouse And 1 Bubble tournament as a real title. So we’re judging him on just his ability to make the playoffs for a cup of coffee? To never be a real threat? Meanwhile MJ and Russell were winning titles at his age not just being cannon fodder for their opponents. So out of respect for LeBron and his legacy I refuse to describe his time in LA as anything other than a complete and utter failure. After all this was his longest consecutive tenure with any team and he didn’t win a title. He’s basically Clyde Drexler or Karl Malone Great players in their own right that never won. LeBron doesn’t even make the roster of all time Laker greats. It’s an insult to his legacy and the legacy of a top 5 player of all time to say his tenure in LA was successful. Although I suppose if he truly was a top 5 all time player would have probably won in LA right? Hmm. Tough to wrap my brain around it.
NBA Courtside@NBA__Courtside

Nick Wright on the debate if LeBron James tenure in LA was a success: “LeBron the record is 8 years with the Lakers, 7 trips to the playoffs. 2 seasons where they made a conference finals and 1 championship. And you’re going to have folks today earnestly genuinely try to argue that LeBron Lakers tenure was a failure. To which I would simply say or ask and don’t even add I’m not even asking you to add any age related qualifiers to it. Has Giannis 13 year Bucks career been a failure? Because in those 13 years, Giannis has 1 trip to the finals, 1 championship, and 1 trip to another conference finals and that’s the exact same thing as Bron in his 8 with the Lakers.” (Via @WhatsWrightShow)

I’m an OKC fan. Not even a LeBron is the best player ever guy. That photo is simply one of my favorite moments of the NBA crossing over into popular culture. Back to the point: I am literally trying to have an impartial argument purely based on metric-driven evidential bases - this is another attempt at a red herring.

@DandyChigginsMD @stoolpresidente Okay let’s break this down analytically. 1) What makes a championship valid? Name the parameters necessary, and the evidential basis behind adding those parameters so we can review and apply them to each season. Opinions don’t matter - only facts and math do.

The ones who posit parameters that do absolutely nothing to prove their argument, then point to said parameters and say, “see?!” There is not one single valid point you’ve made that discounts the 2020 title, because it was played on an even playing ground, which *OBJECTIVELY* favors every team except the 1 seed. The burden of proof in this case doesn’t fall on the normal people, it falls on the people like you, yet your entire argument boils down to “trust me bro me and my friends all agree.”

@BDMBucks @HumanDerek @NovaSportsReal 1) I’m a fan of the entire NBA, not one player, because I’m not a child. 2) I could give you buckets in any gym at any point, and 3) I guarantee you I’ve watched more NBA basketball this season than you’ve watched in your entire life.

I never thought I’d see the day when the NBA was titled so far as to be rigged… ha, just kidding But seriously, I never thought I’d see the day when the NBA would use that rig AGAINST the Los Angeles Lakers Esp for the smallest domestic market there is in the US This should be seen for the shot across the bow it already was long before, however ignored/swept under in the name of market differentials until now Do we think the League has gotten so brazen that it no longer cares if it rocks the big boat? Or do we think this is maybe the reason the series was not allowed to be prolonged… as attention spans fade when focus is ended?
Land of Lowlights@LoLowlights

This was the game winning bucket that ended the Lakers season. A clear travel by Chet Holmgren that the refs decided not to call. RIDICULOUS
