@martinruecker Das ist nur teilweise richtig. Die Studie von MERF und Risk Layer haben zwar die KBV-Meldezahlen als Ausgangsbasis für Non-C19-ME/CFS genommen, aber die C19-ME/CFS-Fälle stammen aus dem Simulationsmodell. Insofern gibt es mind. für C19-ME/CFS eine gute Schätzung.

#Servicetweet Die ständig zitierten 650.000 beschreibt nicht die Zahl der #MECFS Betroffenen in 🇩🇪 . Bezug der Quelle sind Behandlungsfälle, nicht Menschen, außerdem sorgen zahlreiche Faktoren für Über- und Untererfassung. Es gibt de facto keine verlässliche Zahl.

An anecdote on that: Had an appointment with my private PAIS-doctor to get SFN biopsy b/c it's impossible to get it anywhere. Same week he saw and diagnosed 5 doctors from the local University clinic. None of them speak about it at their clinic. (and yeah, it would be risky.)

We need doctors living with #MEcfs and #LongCovid to speak up openly and publicly. I know this is asking a great deal, but remaining hidden in anonymity will not help patients or advance the cause. This is not the time for silence — it is the time for courage and action.

@Foamytrashpanda Well, then we're in the same boat. My life got ruined by a virus too and for many around me as well. Many by SC2, fewer but still many by others like EBV. I try to help them all - no matter which virus caused it.

Recently I've seen more Long Covid advocates trying to drive a wedge between LC and ME/CFS. IMO that's very dangerous. It weakens our position - together we are stronger.

@Iris23342229 Jo, wird leider auf jeden Fall passieren. Wobei ich auch schon mal von einer Betroffenen gehört habe, dass ihre Neurologin sagte, sie habe Schizophrenie, weil ihr LDA helfe. Leider fehlt es selbst bei manchen Ärzten an med. Basiswissen.

@_VFK_DAA Not saying it shouldn't have its own advocacy. Just like ME/CFS should. But these advocacy groups are stronger together IMO. Not by merging but by cooperating. When I speak to politicians and other decisions makers I always speak of ME/CFS and LC.

Unpopular Opinion: Agomelatin und Vortioxetin sind beide einen Versuch wert. (Habe selbst auch schon beide versucht - in meinem Fall leider ohne Wirkung.) Das Problem der Off-Label-Liste sind nicht die Medikamente, die drauf stehen, sondern die die nicht drauf stehen.

💯, der Name ist ein Desaster, sowohl für ME/CFS als auch für das Kernmerkmal von ME/CFS PEM, das jetzt plötzlich auch noch losgelöst von der Erkrankung umherschwirrt! Allerdings ist zB auch Malaria ein falscher Begriff, der übersetzt heißt "schlechte Luft", aber 1/n

@NobleRingleader @kahryn_hoffmann "Post-Exertional Malaise Syndrome". SEID ist mMn auch nicht optimal. Da stellt sich gleich die Frage, ob man die Abkürzung Englisch oder Deutsch aussprechen soll. Auf Deutsch klingt es nicht nach Krankheit. Auf English werden viele nicht wissen, wie man es ausspricht.
