@TexasCyberConf Is the Texas Cyber Summit still active? Last I heard, the next event was planned for next week but the website returns a 404 and I haven't see any recent activity from any of the usual channels.

@awomanvain In my 20+ years in IT most of what I have learned is now obsolete, but here I am, evolving with the industry, and still gainfully employed.

@awomanvain A lot of architects and engineers were worried when Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) became a thing. The world may look very different the next couple of decades but I'm optimistic. Perhaps we'll see "AI Aided Programming."

@awomanvain The most important thing you can learn is not how to "do the thing" but *learn how to learn* to do the thing. That way when the next thing comes along, you'll be able to figure it out.

Vulnerability scanning is an audit function. It is not "proactive security." If you find this controversial, it says a lot about your vulnerability management program.

We’re making some *useful* swag to give out at conferences we sponsor, starting with camera cover stickers. What else do people actually USE from those conference goody bags? If we made tshirts should we do an all-ladies-cut batch or would my dudes proudly rock a pink hibiscus?

@ITSecurity @k8em0 I mean... they are nice and all, but at one point I had about a dozen of them all from different vendors. Tip: if you do go this route, spring for the magslider lid. That's often the deciding factor between keeping vs. donating.
