@ipaddockapps @pmackie6324 @vrtsolutions Updated table to include Catapult. Denison/Catapult are hard to split in terms of yield potential (as reflected in early NVT series too) but some maturity/disease resistance differences (snapshot table from 2023 Sowing Guide).

Rockstar getting beaten by the falling dollars machine. The guys in wa told us this would happen 🤦🏻‍♂️. Yielding very well though and very lucky to be getting some grain so no complaints here. @soupercocky @AlbertGorman1 @lukeschulz9

@vrtsolutions @ipaddockapps Denison, only limited data from previous years but has performed well in those observations. I don’t expect FN to be its weakness. Calibre only limited data, but has performed at least as well as Scepter so far.

@vrtsolutions @ipaddockapps Illabo has a couple of years of testing and hasn’t shown much risk, especially when coupled with its later maturity that avoids a lot of damage from earlier harvest rainfall, FN rating of 5 (same as Scepter).

Fantastic site for @theGRDC @DPIRDWA high rainfall cropping site at Gibson, with thanks to the Whiting family. After no P response in 2021, a very visual response just two paddocks over in 2022. Check it out at our HRZ field day on 7 Sept. 2021 report at farmtrials.com.au/trial/32516

Calibre. L to R sown 11 April (flowered 19 July), sown 29 April (nearing head emergence), sown 16 May (nearing flag leaf emergence) and sown 31 May (nearing first node). Which will come out on top?

Plenty of variation in development stage at the @DPIRDbroadacre wheat agronomy site at Grass Patch, with thanks to @farms_sanderson. Spring wheats sown 11 April range from late stem elongation to already filling grain! Last year top yields came from TOS2 (v. late April).

Alongside the N x P/K/S/manure nutrition trial, some significant differences starting to show as we try to manage canopy height and improve harvest index with defoliation and growth regulators.

Looking forward to Thursday’s field walk incl. @DPIRDbroadacre wheat agronomy trials with over 30 varieties, four times of sowing, and a look at seeding depths and plant densities. Plus plenty else on with @marksey77325134, @SEPWA_ag and F&G trials.

All four times of sowing (14 April to 9 June) up and away at Grass Patch. DPIRD funded research looking at optimising wheat variety choice (in particular diff. maturity types) across the sowing window. Cracking site thanks to hosts @farms_sanderson.
