There's a ballot measuring circulating being called "Our Neighborhood Voices," led by some of the state's biggest nimbys, endorsed by SF's Board of Supervisors President, that would overturn and ban nearly all state housing laws aimed at building more housing and confronting our housing crisis. Its stated goal is to implement pure local control, allowing cities and counties to reject all multi family housing and affordable housing. This is the approach that has created the housing and homelessness crisis we are facing to begin with, leading California to have the most homelessness and the highest rents. It would lead to an even worse housing crisis, empowering nimbys to reject and ban apartment buildings and multi family housing from their cities entirely. It's a dangerous attack on renters and working families, it is backwards and wrong, it should be rejected entirely, and its backers called out and condemned.
