There’s a rallying cry that can be heard in some of the most exclusive venues in the world—however faint at times—about respect and courtesy. It sounds something like: no jerks and bullies allowed vanityfair.com/story/private-…

Have you been processing the mental load of insecure attachment? Is your emotional labor triggering a toxic trauma response? Did gaslighting shatter your coping mechanisms? Are you—shudder—“holding space”? If so, bad news: As a society, we have reached capacity for therapyspeak, the mealymouthed argot of a million self-assured TikTokers. VF's Hillary Busis nominates therapyspeak for oblivion: vanityfair.visitlink.me/5yiZMD

These days, caring about a reality show’s outcome is not just a matter of standom. Thousands of dollars are at stake for people placing wagers on prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket, a development that’s stoking frustration for reality TV fans and industry insiders who worry that betting is warping an otherwise low-stakes genre—the total volume for all ‘Love Island USA’ and ‘Love Island’ UK markets on Kalshi alone was at $77.3 million after Sunday night’s trading. The entertainment industry is now faced with the dilemma of how to deal with prediction markets and the possible harm they may cause to shows’ brands. Reality TV expert Rob Cesternino wonders if a big studio like Paramount, home of ‘Survivor,’ could “pull some strings with lawmakers to get the people who are running these sites to change it up when it comes to reality TV betting.” He knows that’s a long shot. “I just don’t think that reality TV was built for this,” he tells VF. Gatekeepers from Switzerland to Mexico have had it with their clientele’s entitlement: “Some behavior toward fellow human beings should simply never be dictated by someone’s wealth, or tolerated because of it.” As no-assholes policies proliferate, their influence could have a transformative effect on the one percent, shifting the true marker of status from net worth to something more basic: how a member of the elite treats others and their surroundings. In theory, anyway. Read more: vanityfair.visitlink.me/E2Xtmj

Zohran Mamdani had plenty of political and cultural influences as a kid, but he was indeed a frequent 'Daily Show' viewer: “For me—and for a generation of kids raised in New York—Jon Stewart’s voice is as familiar as the one telling us to stand back from the platform edge. People have turned to him not just because he’s funny, but because he speaks plainly about who’s being failed and who’s responsible, and he does it with a deep, unwavering empathy" vanityfair.com/story/the-dail…

Jacob Anderson on working with Sam Reid in 'The Vampire Lestat': “Sam is never afraid to be the clown, to push it as far as you can possibly push it. And that’s a gift for any scene partner, because it gives you permission. It gives you license to push back or to push in your own way or extend the options and opportunities for any given scene. He really puts himself out there without fear” vanityfair.visitlink.me/tXefCo
