My new cover for American Chemical Society💥🧪 @JacekWychowani1 and colleagues showed that tiny self-assembling #peptides can direct immune responses. Depending on their sequence, they may reduce or trigger #inflammation. With just a single amino acid change, researchers were able to tune nanofiber formation and hydrogel properties and cause dramatic shifts in #macrophage_polarization.🧬 On this #cover, I depicted a macrophage surrounded by peptides that influence its polarization. The overall composition reminds me of planets drifting through space.
