A third PhD defense from the Raghavan Lab, it's @ClaudiaConvo 's turn next! She defends a significant body of work on how neuro-immune crosstalk disrupts colon motility, in #GulfWarIllness impacting long-term #VeteranHealth

Claudia Collier & co show that exposure to a chemical linked to Gulf War illness can change how the colon moves by affecting the nerves and immune cells that help control gut function. doi.org/10.1242/bio.06…

Led by Oscar Benavides and @SabrinaVH_ , with a team of grad students and undergrads to make this happen over many years! dECM scaffolds are amazing, but wouldn't it be better if we can actually see through its entire volume to map cell-biomaterial interactions? 😍

Out now in @BioMaterSci - t.ly/t49wg cross-pollinating Raghavan lab, @WalshLab_TAMU and @DanielAlge labs- a new optical clearing - light sheet microscopy based full volume imaging and automated analysis pipeline to see deep in decell ECM scaffolds!
