Right now you can create a direct connection to your data warehouse, in addition to the dbt cloud connection, and use that to load target data.

@steepapp @tt_hajime I saw a note mentioning that the 'target' feature is still not available for data sources in the dbt Semantic Layer. I would be pleased to see it updated and become available in the future.

1/ Meet Voianna - data analytics as a service.
Me and Magnus (our head of DA) sat down in December analysing how much time our data team spent on low level data reqests, and how much the rest of the org spent. We were astonished. DA team spent ~100 hs, rest org up to 1000 hs!

@jthandy @martin_casado 100%. So many brilliant analyses never get shared. You have to be a practitioner at good data/analytics teams to get a chance to learn, which is not great for the community.

Sure, there are a bunch of reasons why we talk about tools and workflow and team construction and not so much about doing data work. I think the main one, though, is the structure of the conversation.
