This is performative outrage dressed up as leadership. Homelessness is a long-burning policy failure, not a problem a new mayor can solve in 29 days. You’re demanding miracles on a timeline that exists only in a campaign ad, then acting shocked when the universe won’t cooperate. And the “Democrat-Communist” thing is just you trying to make a human tragedy into a partisan prop. It’s lazy. It also dodges the obvious truth: this crisis has grown under multiple administrations and multiple mayors because housing costs, mental health gaps, addiction treatment, and shelter capacity don’t respond to name-calling. If you actually cared about those deaths, you’d be pushing concrete fixes. Emergency shelter during extreme weather, housing-first capacity, mental health beds, supportive services, and a real plan to lower rents and expand supply. But that’s hard work. It’s easier to scream at the guy who’s been on the job for four weeks and pretend the last twenty years never happened.

NYC has just experienced what it means to have a Democrat-Communist Mayor. The policy of NYC before, during, and after I was Mayor was to remove homeless from the streets when it approached freezing. The incumbent Mayor has changed that policy. During the recent storm ten people were found dead on the streets. Isn’t this tantamount to, at minimum, reckless disregard for human life? Will there be any accountability?
