@johnsaponaro As I got older I grew a huge appreciation for this… it’s such bad taste to just call someone whatever they want because it feels better to say.

@KickinitwitKeef If someone wants to be called by a nickname, or is at least ok with it, that’s different. Ignoring people’s preferred names only seems to be a problem when *someone else* disagrees with a gender identity or wants to whitewash their name.

I’ve seen the anglicization of Latino names many times, but the latest is “Sal Perez” instead of Salvador Perez. As Roberto González noted in The Pride of Havana, this kind of forced assimilation represents a partial loss of cultural identity and shouldn’t happen today.

I’m not buying this from Heyman… If Peralta had Boras as his Agent, then yes. Peralta has been on record telling @Masterflip_ : “Estamos en eso”
Stearns hasn’t been trying for 2+ years to trade for Peralta, the trading 2 top 100 prospects, just to let him walk out. At the end. I think both parties meet in the middle. 5-6 years, $150M-$180M gets it done.

Mark Vientos bounced into a double play to end the Mets' three-run fifth inning. Vientos is now 1-for-27 (.037) at the plate in Grapefruit League play this spring.

Hopefully he only has the runs…. Unfortunately, durability seems like it will be a never ending issue.
I would say switch go DH, but he usually gets hurt when at the plate, not behind it.

Francisco Alvarez was removed from tonight's game in the top of the fourth inning. Jose Aular entered in his spot as a pinch hitter. On the Mets' lineup card this morning, Alvarez was scheduled to play all nine innings tonight. Alvarez struck out swinging in his first AB. He was behind the plate catching Kodai Senga for the first three innings on defense.
