I’ve seen the anglicization of Latino names many times, but the latest is “Sal Perez” instead of Salvador Perez. As Roberto González noted in The Pride of Havana, this kind of forced assimilation represents a partial loss of cultural identity and shouldn’t happen today.

@Masterflip_ They don't need the WBC every 2 years to market the sport. Shoot, in that case, make it every year. By making it 4 years, it keeps it fresh and special like the World Cup.

To maximize momentum, not only should the tournament be held mid season, but held every 2 years! Greater frequency means more exposure, more star power on display regularly, and more opportunities to hook casual fans worldwide!
