@BadgedPatriot I’m so fortunate. I was grandfathered into an old pension plan and I pay employee rates until I turn 65. Without this, I’d still be working. But before you salivate - those 35 years were brutal and left me with lifelong mental and physical health issues.

Anybody out there that is pre medicare age (under 65), that may have retired early, I'm curious as to what you do for healthcare coverage?

@FixingEducation I believe most states mandate employing a Superintendent. The remaining mentioned positions can be viewed through the lens of necessary responsibilities that can be shared, absorbed or in some cases, handled by a vendor.

Does every school district need full-time central administration positions like the ones listed below? Superintendent Assistant Superintendent Chief Financial Officer Chief Academic Officer Director of Human Resources Director of Special Education Director of Technology Director of Curriculum and Instruction Director of Student Services Facilities Manager Transportation Director Food Services Director Grants Coordinator Athletic Director CONSOLIDATING central administration positions, especially in smaller districts, is a MUST and will lead to significant cost savings!
