@Chase_Senior @RobMaaddi “Media have engaged in self-feeding speculation that is unmoored?”
Shocking @DMRussini. Not much fun when roles are reversed.
English

BREAKING: Dianna Russini has resigned from The Athletic, according to @RobMaaddi of The Associated Press. Here is Russini's statement:
"I have covered the NFL with professionalism and dedication throughout my career, and I stand behind every story I have ever published. When the Page Six item first appeared, The Athletic supported me unequivocally, expressed confidence in my work and pride in my journalism. For that I am grateful. In the days that followed, unfortunately, commentators in various media have engaged in self-feeding speculation that is simply unmoored from the facts. Moreover, this media frenzy is hurtling forward without regard for the review process The Athletic is trying to complete. It continues to escalate, fueled by repeated leaks, and I have no interest in submitting to a public inquiry that has already caused far more damage than I am willing to accept. Rather than allowing this to continue, I have decided to step aside now — before my current contract expires on June 30. I do so not because I accept the narrative that has been constructed around this episode, but because I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career."

@FTFonFS1 @DannyParkins DeVonta can carry any room in the league. Get AJ out of the way and watch out!

.@DannyParkins thinks DeVonta Smith could be a top 10 WR 👀
“I think DeVonta Smith is absolutely a #1 WR in this league…If the Eagles featured him more…I think DeVonta Smith would have a career year.”

I have come up with a few reasons analysts/fans/podcasters criticize Jalen Hurts more than QBs who’ve done less. 👇🏼
1. Stoic personality = less “narrative fuel”
Hurts doesn’t give the media much. No flashy quotes, no emotional outbursts, no controversy. Compare that to guys like Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen who are more expressive or outwardly charismatic—people latch onto personality. Hurts’ calm, almost corporate tone can come off as “boring,” so he doesn’t get the same benefit of the doubt in public discourse.
2. He doesn’t look like a traditional QB (to some analysts)
Even after success, some still frame him as a “system QB” because:
He runs a lot
The Philadelphia Eagles have had elite O-line/play-calling
He doesn’t rely on flashy off-platform throws like Mahomes
That creates this lingering bias where people credit the system more than the player.
3. Success came fast—and skeptics held onto old takes
Hurts went from “question mark” to Super Bowl-level QB quickly. A lot of analysts were low on him early, and instead of fully flipping, they hedge or wait for regression so they don’t look wrong.
4. Wins don’t always match the eye test crowd wants
Some fans prefer QBs who “wow” you every play. Hurts is more:
- Efficient
- Clutch
- Situationally elite
That style doesn’t always translate to highlight culture, even though it wins games.
5. Team success cuts both ways
Because the Eagles are stacked, critics say:
“Anyone could win with that roster.”
But when they lose, suddenly it’s:
“Hurts isn’t elite.”
He gets both sides of that inconsistency.
6. Personality vs perception
His leadership is respected inside the locker room, but since he’s not loud or flashy, outsiders sometimes misread that as lack of “it factor”—even though teammates consistently vouch for him.
Bottom line:
Yeah, his stoic personality contributes, but the bigger issue is perception lag + stylistic bias. Hurts doesn’t fit the media’s ideal QB mold, so he gets nitpicked more than others with similar (or worse) production.

A-Day.
An appetizer, yes—but in Alabama, it feels like something more sacred.
It arrives each spring carrying the weight of memory and the promise of what’s next. The echoes of past Aprils linger in the air—sunlight spilling over Bryant-Denny, the hum of anticipation in the stands, the first roar when the ball is snapped. We’ve sat there before, watching legends take their earliest steps. Quarterbacks who would become icons. Freshmen who didn’t yet know they’d etch their names into history. Coaches pacing the sideline, shaping something that would come to define entire seasons—and sometimes, eras.
It’s never just a scrimmage.
It’s a reunion. A ritual. A reminder of what it means to care this much.
Because with A-Day comes belief. Wild, unfiltered belief. Championship dreams are born here. Depth charts are debated like gospel. Every throw, every run, every flash of brilliance gets magnified into possibility. It’s where hope takes root—where a fanbase begins to convince itself that this could be the year… again.
And maybe that’s why it matters so much.
It’s our bridge between what was and what could be. A glimpse into a team that will bring us everything—joy, heartbreak, stress, pride, and those unforgettable Saturdays that define fall. It fuels the long offseason ahead, giving us just enough to hold onto when the silence of summer sets in.
Yet today, there is no silence. Thousands will gather in crimson, white, and houndstooth. Old friends reconnect. New stories begin. The Tide takes the field, and for a few hours, everything feels possible.
Because in Alabama, A-Day isn’t just football.
It’s a waaaay of life.
Happy Spring Game, folks.

@CooperDeJawn3 My sources in the building have told me that there is a good possibility that both of these clowns are about to enter FA?
Can’t happen quick enough to that fraud Russini.
English

@Meche64 @tomstakes These people have NO IDEA how badly this will backfire. Buckle up! Revenge will be sweet.

My 🦅 theory: The mass media is rallying fans to try to eliminate the Eagles. It’s a 20v1. But it will NOT work…
HEAR ME OUT! 🗣️
Everyone has come together to clown on the Eagles in the moment. They had a rough season and everything that happened has been used as ammo against this entire regime.
Many are speaking on their downfall already, certain that they won’t ever be the same.
They’ve not only recycled the story from 2023 about Jalen’s personality — but they’ve also claimed that it is directly tied to his future with the team being murky.
They’re saying his own teammates don’t like him, he’s uncoachable and there are anonymous moles in the building working for the media to provide this info.
But the Eagles are sitting back, making small moves to sure up the roster, standing on their business in trade negotiations, prepping for the draft in silence and most importantly have overhauled the offensive staff as an indication that they want Jalen Hurts to flourish.
Jalen Hurts also has 3 years left on his contract and if you’re going to glaze Howie “Super Team” Roseman then do it right. Yes he acquires talent but his best attribute is knowing exactly when to sign players to maximize cap space.
Jalen is very easy to work with. They’ve proven that. Lurie has gotten personally close with him and there are no secrets between the two. Jalen knows what is expected of him and they have shown over and over that they believe in him.
If you want your information from national media who are basically paid to sell ad space nowadays, or some Cowboys fan who chimes in to troll, fine. I barely miss a press conference.
That said, it’s hard to predict the AJ Brown situation. It has been one of the strangest stakeouts, but I think fans will accept what’s best in the end. My guess has been no, but I wouldn’t go into any guarantees. Just a guess.
The Eagles are held to an impossible standard bc they threaten the status quo. Many don’t want them on top, so they dramatize anything less than a Super Bowl as a complete spiral.
This offseason has been more about how the Eagles didn’t win the Super Bowl than about how the Seahawks did.
But even when the machine tries to set you up for failure you still find success your own way. By training camp, it’ll be back to football and the Eagles are still a contender.
There is work to be done and it’s got everything to do with the quest for that 3rd Lombardi.

@MikeSielski If you actually knew anything about Jalen Hurts you would know he isn’t “mimicking” anyone.
English

My whole life I’ve always found it funny observing how out of touch national media is with specific teams. I’m down at the stadium every week damn near. Listen to every press conference, watch every game, every single day is about the Eagles.
All of this talk is SO random and stupid. Jalen Hurts will retire an Eagle. The city and organization love him. The Eagles are winning at a rare rate. The entire culture changed starting with the QB.
The surface level social media commentary is for entertainment purposes only. It’s not based in truth at all. It will never exist outside of this app during dead offseason periods. It’ll be forgotten and those who wasted time on it won’t even care enough to be shown they were wrong. They know it’s performative. They’ll move onto the next narrative that makes them feel happy believing, whatever that may be.
This is all one big waste of time. If anyone wants to talk Eagles football, I’m around! 🦅

@quentin52819781 @BCameronNFL You should be. Think about when the issues with Jalen and AJ started.
English

@BCameronNFL I’m a little worried about Saquon honestly
English

First it was A.J. Brown trade rumors. Now it’s Jalen Hurts’ character. Who’s next? Smitty too skinny? Saquon washed? Lane & Mailata too vocal?
Yes, the #Eagles offense does need to evolve but the national and local media’s nonstop finger-pointing is getting ridiculous.
