I grew up on a council estate—I know how important council homes are to Londoners.
I'm proud that over the last financial year, we’ve started building more than 4,600 new council homes across the city. Today, I took a trip to Bermondsey to see some of them for myself.

This morning I went with @SadiqKhan to see some of the new council housing being built by Southwark Council, part funded by City Hall: 29 new council homes on the Acorn estate.
Last year City Hall funding helped start more new council homes since 1985 - the year I was born
