A couple of days ago, @JamesAFurey shared his powerful testimony, and it hit home hard because like him, I denied God and Jesus for over a decade. Today, God put it on my heart to share mine. Not to add or take away from anyone else's story, but so I can fade into the background and let Jesus and the empty tomb shine through. On Sunday, October 27, 2024, I carried the heavy weight of more than 10 years estranged from my faith. The joyful hymns of my childhood had turned into silent resentment toward my parents, who once nurtured my beliefs, especially my mother, whose narcissistic actions, despite claiming to be a "pastor" and a "prophet" left deep wounds. Global events and circumstances had left me open to believing that there was a God behind everything, turning what was meant for evil into good, so I had begun seeking out truth but was extremely guarded out of fear of being lied to. The sermon was on forgiveness from Matthew 18. My heart, hardened by old conflicts, started to soften. The pastor talked about forgiving "seventy times seven" times, and those words echoed inside me, calling me to let go of the bitterness. The pastor also referred to Ephesians 1:17 "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him." At the end, during the altar call, the pastor looked right at me, my wife can attest, made eye contact with me, and said, "Forgive your mother." My heart melted. I went to the altar, knelt under the cross, and prayed for strength to forgive, and for God to forgive my own sins and to heal my hard heart. Tears streamed down my face like a quiet renewal as I whispered the words. After unburdening my soul, I returned to my seat lighter, hopeful, but still a bit unsure. As I sat down, the projector showed the next song for the congregation: "Blessed Assurance." I'm so grateful my wife was there to see it, because it feels almost too incredible to believe. The title hit me like a freight train. "Blessed Assurance" was my favorite hymn from childhood, sung countless times before doubts and family issues clouded my faith. And this was a remix, a new song by Elevation Worship called "Trust In God." It felt like God's personal whisper, confirming my prayer was heard and my heart touched by grace. Tears flowed again, but these were tears of joy and homecoming. The lyrics sealed it: Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine   He's been my fourth man in the fire, time after time   Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood   And what He did for me on Calvary is more than enough   I trust in God, my Savior   The one who will never fail   He will never fail   I trust in God, my Savior   The one who will never fail   He will never fail   Perfect submission, all is at rest   I know the author of tomorrow has ordered my steps   So this is my story and this is my song   I'm praising my risen King and Savior all the day long   I trust in God, my Savior   The one who will never fail   He will never fail (x2)   He didn't fail you then   He won't fail you now   I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered (x3)   That's why I trust Him, that's why I trust Him  That's why I trust in God, my Savior   The one who will never fail   He will never fail   Oh, I trust in God, my Savior   The one who will never fail   He will never fail   I sought the Lord   I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered   I sought the Lord (and He delivered me from all my fears)   I sought the Lord (from everything)   And He heard and He answered, oh   That's why I trust Him, that's why I trust Him   I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered (x3)   That's why I trust Him, that's why I trust in God   After the service, I talked to the pastor. He reminded me that forgiveness doesn't mean letting an abusive person back in your life to harm you again. Jesus is with me. He rose from the grave. He is alive and full of love.

It is with some personal surprise that, after 30 years as an atheist, I’ve come to say: I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. … I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son

@FLDadReborn Why are you still eating there? Chipotle has faced multiple lawsuits and a major federal penalty related to foodborne illnesses (including norovirus outbreaks) where failures in employee hand hygiene, sick worker policies, and overall food safety protocols were key factors.

It took 35 minutes to get through a 10 person line at Chipotle last night. I could’ve driven home and cooked the ingredients faster. I rarely go there. Is that normal?

@LibertyCipher @churchtalkative It's just funny the lengths you'll go to say you worship the same god as the jews but not the Muslims, because your entire religion is just loving jews and hating Muslims, sprinkled with Jesus' name.

@LibertyCipher @churchtalkative Muslims worship the god who revealed the Torah to Moses. So do jews. All three religions have theological differences, doesn't mean we worship different gods. But you make an arbitrary distinction between jews and Muslims. Even Catholics admit Muslims worship the same god.

@murica1stmuslim @churchtalkative If I hated Muslim people, would I be concerned enough to discuss these things with you? I don't hate the people who are deceived. I do hate the deceiver. Romans 12:9 "Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good."

@CaptainSkooma @Pirat_Nation Just because you have an opinion you feel strongly about, it doesn't mean everyone agrees with you, and the fact Capcom agrees with you is fine, but it means you are the one upset that someone disagrees with a multi billion dollar company in this instance.

I don't follow random YouTube "Rabbis". Even the Tanakh (the Jewish Scriptures) already shows a God with plurality, a personal Spirit, a Son, and a suffering Messiah; all details Muslims largely ignore, reinterpret, or deny. This suggests they are not worshiping the God of the Tanakh as He reveals Himself there. Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...’” Genesis 1:2 already mentions “the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” Multiple Tanakh passages treat the Spirit as a distinct person who can be grieved: Isaiah 63:10 “But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit.” The Tanakh openly acknowledges the Creator has a Son. Proverbs 30:4 “Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? ... What is His name or His Son’s name? Surely you know!” This is not hidden. It is a direct question in the wisdom literature. Clear prophecies of the Messiah that Muslims typically ignore or flatly contradict: • Isaiah 53:5 NASB 2020 “But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings...” (Muslims deny Jesus was crucified—Quran Surah 4:157). • Micah 5:2 “...His appearances are from long ago, From the days of eternity.” • Isaiah 9:6 calls the coming child “Mighty God, Eternal Father.” • Daniel 7:13-14 shows the “Son of Man” receiving worship forever. These are not minor verses. They describe the Messiah’s suffering, eternal origin, and divine status. Jews (like Rabbi Singer) read the plurality as majestic language or angels, and the Messiah prophecies differently. Muslims claim the same Tanakh but reject the Son, treat the Spirit as only a force, and say the crucifixion never happened. The New Testament simply connects the dots the Tanakh already hints at: 1 John 2:23 “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.” That is why Biblical scholars see a different God here. The real Gabriel in the Tanakh brought hope about the coming Son and Messiah. The angel Muhammad met brought a message that removes both. If Muslims truly followed the God of the Tanakh, those prophecies would matter. Read the full passage. Study what faithful Christians across traditions and history have said. Bring your questions to God in prayer and to a trusted community.

No. Galatians 1:8 "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" They followed an "angel" (a demon) instead of the God of Abraham. Mohammad claims it was Gabriel, but Gabriel in the Bible always calmed recipients of God's message by telling them to "fear not". Contrasted with the "angel" in the cave who used physical force and terror, seriius red flags are raised. Their very book says they follow the "greatest deceiver." Their "prophet" wrote "If Muhammad fabricated any revelation, Allah would sever his aorta." And records state while he was dying, he said he felt exactly that “as if my aorta is being cut” from the Khaybar poison. The false prophet test matched his death.

Joshua 6:21 “They utterly destroyed everything in the city, both man and woman, young and old... with the edge of the sword.” Why did God command this? Two clear reasons from the text: Deuteronomy 9:4–5 “Do not say in your heart when the LORD your God has driven them out before you, ‘Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to take possession of this land.’ Rather, it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is dispossessing them before you... It is not because of your righteousness... but because of the wickedness of these nations.” God had waited more than 400 years for the Canaanites’ sins (child sacrifice, idolatry, sexual evil) to reach full measure (Genesis 15:16). Joshua was called God’s servant because he left nothing undone of all the LORD commanded (Joshua 11:15). He was faithful, just like Moses before him. This is one of the rare acts of divine judgment under Old Testament theocracy. It is not meant to be a pattern for Christians to follow today. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and use “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17). That said, it is a warning. If we continue to allow child sacrifice (abortion), idolatry (denial of God), sexual evil (literally everywhere you look today...), there will be dire consequences for our society and civilization, eventually to the point of complete annihilation.

Now it came to pass after these things that Joshua son of Nun, the servant of Adonai, died at the age of 110 years. (Joshua 24:29) May it be said of me that I was a "servant of Adonai" when I die. What a tremendous legacy to leave.
