The move against Catholic services can also be seen as a slight against Catholics, due to the Catholic Church’s vocal opposition to the war, having denounced Hegseth for invoking Jesus in a bid to rally support and justification for the conflict. God grafts together believing Jews and believing Gentiles into a single tree with shared roots (Romans 11:17–24). God makes both Jew and Gentile one new man, breaking down the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14–16). God creates one body united by one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism (Ephesians 4:4–6). God includes the Gentiles as fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ (Ephesians 3:6). God calls those who were not His people to become His people and receive mercy (Romans 9:25–26; 1 Peter 2:10). God declares that there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all (Romans 10:12). God makes all who belong to Christ Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise (Galatians 3:28–29). God replaces the old covenant with a new covenant, making the first obsolete (Hebrews 8:13). God takes away the first to establish the second (Hebrews 10:9).
